Whats the last record you bought?

It’s always a pleasure going in there. They’re so friendly and always up for a wee chat too.

I love that Mercy Mercy record, hadn’t listened to it in years. So good. Immediately took me back to a time I was living in North London I was striking absolute gold in the bins in Haggle records over a couple of weekends. Stars and Bars, loads of Bruton stuff, random italo, loads of island records stuff. Anyway, this one was cheap as chips and as good as any obscurity I picked up.

Anyway, had a very emotional few days and it just hit me deep. Also made me think of this golden cheap one I must have picked up then as well, which in my opinion, is also just perfect. Balearic reggae? Dunno. Whatever.

Stars n Bars in Haggle! Those piles under the racks could produce gold … I remember finding lots of early Chicago House stuff there and a minty US 12” of “Billy Who”.

The absolute chaos of the place was very helpful. Billy who…score

This directly from Numero Group, ordered it on the 17th Jan but it doesn’t look like it’s gone into delivery yet. Messaged them a couple of days ago but no response yet, are they usually pretty good to deal with does anyone know?

It’s in stores here in the US. Looks and sounds great so they’ve definitely sent it out to stores and distributors.

Cheers, I might try and give them a call later on.

Super interesting record and incredibly done by 11 year old girls.

When I first saw it I thought it was one of those made up back stories, but it seems to be true.

It’s about a thousand times more interesting than anything else in the Juno Balearic section. Pretty incredible really.

I had no idea about the record or the group. I was buying records off Marini in Nijmegen and he suggested it. Postage was the same for 7 and that was a “cheap” seventh but the record I have played by far the most since it arrived at my house. Proper grows on you.

One of the members is a relatively well-established actress now. Be interesting to know what happened to the rest and if they did any other recordings.

how about a record i didn’t buy because i didn’t know it was reissued and now i’m mad that i missed it?

edit: apparently a black vinyl version is coming out eventually, and i’d rather hold out for one of those anyway

I found the excerpts of that X Cetra record both creepy and irritating. I couldnt sit through an entire listen.

Is the new Payfone on preorder or just streaming on bandcamp so far?

I associate Billy Who with the Shibuya FM mixes from early noughties ( remember them)

I think Ive go a DVDR in loft with the mixes on MP3

Bought a few from a seller over here.

Wop Bop Torledo - Jungle Fever (w/Morales and Knuckles remixes)
Titiyo - After The Rain (as heard on a DJ lloyd mix)
Nitro Deluxe - This Brutal House
NT Gang - There’s a Noise Going On
Bianca e Negro - Get Down Its Party Time
Terry Callier - Love Theme From Spartacus - Zero 7 remix
Neon - La Macho Du Mambo
Tery Callier - I don’t want to see myself without you
Sandii - Eating Pleasure
The Love Unlimited Orchestra - Welcome Aboard
Kwanzaa Posse - African Vibrations

$100 all in. Not bad. 80% of which was the Terry Callier, the Sandii and the Love Unlimited Orchestra.
