Whats the last record you bought?

Listened to that Dennis Bovell comp on Bandcamp, I think I’ll have to get that. Really good.

I’d recommend dub 4 daze too. Eye water on that is a gem. But you’re shooting fish in a barrel with Mr Bovell. The only questionable thing he ever did was accept an MBE.

I rarely buy 7”s and it’s ’a bit’ pricey but hey ho

Way too exy for me when I include postage to Australia (did some digging and found sneaky digi for playing at our New Year’s Day party).

Theres an edit on here on the Harvey @ Electric Chair thread i think

That’s the one! Killer

I do lose respect when people accept honours from the establishment :grimacing:

Sorry, but I don’t care how much you want it, people who try to get away with £37 for a 7’’ should never be supported imo

JV001 released by Atlantis Records. Amazing, deep, mystical dubplate business. I don’t think it’s available online but Atlantis might still have some, or maybe Jelly Records. Worth seeking out.

What about a store that tries selling a 1-sided 12” edit for $85?

Was in London for Spurs-Chelsea last Sunday , GWR canceled the last train back to Plymouth so we were stuck in London for the night, so had a walk around the West End the following day and picked up a few faves from back in the days:

Tricky Tee / Johnny The Fox
Fresh 3 MC’s / Fresh
Super Kids / The Tragedy
Rock Master Scott / Its Life
Cut Master DC / That’s Life

I know, we could go on…
But in this case its def the bootlegger I have a prob with, not the store as I’m happy with retailers whose margins fluctuate wildly (I worked in thwe wine trade for a bit!).
And I’m happy with bootleggers making otherwise unavailable/pricey tracks available again and taking a reasonable cut. But both tracks here can be found in hi res in seconds, so there’s no justification for the price. Durty Truth Records entire involvement in the release seems to be counting $.

That Tricky Tee tune is a massive favourite. Remember it being on one of the electro albums

I heard the willing and able played on a decent soundsystem a few years ago and it sounded terrible. I’ve got a dubplate copy with the the scorpio twins mix of ‘lamour by Rheinzand on and I couldn’t play either side as they just sound bad. I wouldn’t bother with that 7” at any price tbh.

Amazing to think you can get the original of ‘willing & able’ for 75p on Discogs

Agreed, I’d want Darryn to come and perform the song live in my living room and make me tea and toast afterwards for that price.

Maybe a light shoulder massage thrown in

Yeah, why not  :ok_hand:

There is a huge variance now in the price of new records. Just looking in the Juno house 12" new releases over the last eight weeks and it goes from a low of £11.50 to high of £24.75, the balearic range goes from £11.99 to £34.75! What is driving this massive range of pricing? I understand Japanese imports would be more and production costs in general are going up but is this variance some labels trying to drive up prices or is linked to input costs?
