Ian O’Brien so so underrated
ian o’brien’s “gigantic days” is one of my all time favorite albums. i go back to it constantly.
If you like that Lisa Stansfield remix, check out this other Ian O’Brien remix which is in a similar vein - I think I even like it a bit more.
Gigantic days is proper! I dig that out every now and then too. The golden era of Peacefrog!
Natural knowledge is simply spellbinding.
His remix of hipnotic “naima” on laws of motion is an absolute belter too.
Reissue of the year IMO. The live versions of Harvest Time are also great
Maybe this is what I get for Christmas
Thanks for the Ian O’Brien tips! Really enjoying those remixes
Just checked - he’s done loads of remixes- any other tips?? Thanks!
Not a remix but I really love this ambient jazzy synthy noodley thing he did, often start my sets with it and the 12 its on can be picked up for pennies. Would be going for $$$ if it was on a Venezuelan private press LP released in 1986 -
Hugely underrated.
His ‘Soul of Science’ comps with KdG were an education.
picked up a couple of black friday cheapies from dark entries:
Oooh I loved the first Loveshadow, will check this, thanks.
similar to a lot of the space ghost productions, it’s got that whole “let’s pitch our R8 alllll the way down” thing going on, which i love.
Aficionado comp. First record I’ve bought in ages and it’s ace. Started a new job recently and this was my payday treat to myself
It’s a beauty.
