Missed lucky cloud London last weekend (as well as a DJ invitation locally) as I’ve been very bad with flu/covid. Mark offered me his ticket as he was setting up again, by reports it is very good now, the lack of comment from lucky cloud would perhaps idicate that the party was good still. Not wanting a sour experience here as I’ve been running on ‘loft/PG’ principles ever since I threw a party.

one of the joys of Substack is stumbling across these blogs about your fave tunes. I still think there is this tendency to overanalyse lyrics from that era, when people (esp non-native English speakers) were probably just amusing themselves with rhymes not giving it too much thought

Good read and he even describes how I think we all see this forum.

There are, of course, entirely benign fandoms, networks of cooperative individuals who quite like the same thing, can chat with others sharing the same pastime and, importantly, provide support for one another in difficult times.

That’s one of your Frankie pix isn’t it @dom_moir

Written in October 1993, but a fascinating and timely insight into a trial that is still in the public eye.

Finding hidden gems on holiday in random places is literally one of the most fun things you can do while away - and I have been to Centre Parcs in Holland!

A collection of Rolling Stone articles from the mid 60s - mid 80’s. I pulled it from my parents bookshelf recently. I remember my dad getting it back in the 80s and me trying to read it but it was over my head at the time. As much culture and politics as music. A great read.

Some astonishingly good articles in here - the Kent State one and the Patty Hearst

I know I stopped for a bit but I’m trying to make it up. Check back in a month and let’s see where that number ends up,

I’ve just read the quietus review of the latest primal scream album. Studs up to say the least.

Definitely matches what I’m thinking of the new Scream album. Homer produced their last good album in More Light. I had high hopes with him producing again, but just not feeling it from what I’ve heard so far.

Read his biography and it’s 100% self aggrandisement. He was channeling the universal Psychedelic vibes aged 11 apparently.

I’ve heard a couple of tracks & there’s one I really liked, I also love David Holmes but i’ll never buy anything by PS again because of the way that pr1ck Gillespie teated Duffy & Denise Johnson.

Had to play a support gig for Primal Scream once in Antwerp. After our show we wanted to go back to the backstage for a chill but weren’t allowed in it anymore because we would interfere in his channeling psychedelic business, according to his tour manager… enough said.
