I saw Joe Jackson last Sunday at the London Palladium. Great show with most of the old classics, often reimagined with different arrangements, and the obligatory few off his new album. No surprises the newer stuff doesn’t match up but at 72 he’s still a great performer and was a really enjoyable night

Faze Action live band last night at The Fox & Firkin - a lot of fun, a lot of energy with Zeke Manyika the star of the show at 71 years old! Also my first visit there and was mightily impressed, it’s a top top venue for DJs/live music. Looking forward to returning in November for the Dur-Dur Band.

I went there in June to see them with a mate. We were very urm ‘refreshed’ on rakes of pints and gummies. My mate chucked a massive whitey and spewed outside our tent. I’m 52, he’s 57…
It’s an awesome venue for a gig. The sound could have been a lot better but I imagine it’s difficult to get a decent sound going in that space. Sounds good if you go right to the front.
I’m from Kendal in the Lake District and there used to be a rave at a quarry in Coniston called Hodge Close so it brought back loads of nice memories of going to that as a teen. A friend once went in white jeans and miraculously kept them clean all night in a dark wet cave. I’m still impressed by that!

I’m going with a mate who lives relatively close, he went a couple of years back when they were doing Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld. He’s now sober, but I’ll be no doubt following a similar menu to yourselves - hopefully I can avoid the whitey.

We had fun but numbers were probably a bit down on a year ago. Quite a few I was expecting to see werent there.
Everyone was raving about Nature and I liked all his tunes but found him a bit flat. Great to hear Frankie Fonsett & Gaz Mayall (neither of whom I’ve heard this century!) and Logan F was sounding good as we left for the train.
