Been corralled in to hacienda do at Drumsheds next Feb with about 16 other aging like mindeds. Line up is not too bad tbf.
Is it any good as a venue?
That was my fear. Justin Robertson, David Holmes and James Holroyd should be enough to keep me interested tbf. Kevin Saunderson too.

The house doc is really good. I watched it today. Just some great stories. I also watched the Lee Burridge doc out of interest. He seems like a genuinely nice chap but itās maybe not for me and yes he was part Tyrant etc.

Arthur Baker thing was a bit odd tbh. Good turnout at BFI but not a great doc imo. Lacked substance.
Thought the Move Ya Body/Vince Lawrence doc at the imax on Thursday was great. Really enjoyed it especially on that huge screen. Not surprisingly, a healthy turnout of London club/house music faces.

Was really tempted to go to that or even get the train down to Brighton for the screening there (today I think) but family sidelined it. Sounds like I didnāt miss muchā¦

Yeah I wouldnāt recommend it. Perhaps Iām missing something. The content from 1980s NY was good, as it always is. The āgetting the band back togetherā bits, not so much. It just didnāt land with me. Another decent turnout though.
I was at this too. I know what you mean. Did quite enjoy it with Arthur and co in the house etc.
Made me want to pull this out when I got home. Forgot it was a Baker tune.

On a total whim, and less than two minutes after seeing an email, Iāve just bought two tickets for The Beta Band and The Flaming lips. Itās at a venue called Piece Hall in Halifax.
As I type, iām hoping thatās in the north of England and not Nova Scotia.
Iāve never been to either before.
Itās on the 23rd July, which is the day before our wedding anniversary. Last year I took my wife to the 2nd day of the 3rd Test vs India at Old Trafford.
22 years in and I feel like iām really nailing this anniversary thing.

Its a beautiful venue for gigs, one of the best Iāve been to. Iām quite tempted by the Flaming Lips gig myself.

People always assume that if youāre from Glasgow, that youāll be in the Sub Club every weekend.
Iāve been going out in Glasgow for over 20 years and this will only be about my 15th time going. Iāve always had more fun at La Cheetah or The Berkeley Suite.
