If anyone is going to Cross The Tracks or Gala on Sunday, and fancies a carry-on, I have a small late-entry concession list (£10 after 10.30) for the Low Life 30th party at Brixton Storeys (the PoW as was).
You’d catch Musclecars in the club (who I’m warming up for) and probably the last hour of Bill on the terrace.
Loads of amazing records that I had not heard before. Didn’t hear that many classics but Moodymann dropping Gwen McRae in the sun was a moment. The energy in the Theo tent was also electric. A sight to behold.
Caught DJ Koco last night. I’m sure a lot of you have seen them before, but phwoaaar what a performance! Must’ve covered every single tempo and genre in existence with such skill, enthusiasm and flow that you couldn’t help but feel positive.
The Faith boat party was good fun on Saturday, lovely evening for it and the city looked great from the river. Nancy Noise was on good form. Unfortunately just as the party was kicking off some nutter jumped off the top deck…the boat went into emergency mode, music turned off and police search boats searching the river. Everyone feared the worst but turned out was some loon who had decided to swim for shore…Boat had to dock early as a result.
