Clubs yes, gigs no. The couple next to us talked to each other through the first three songs and then left before the encore, I think they should have just gone down the pub. Even with encores if was finished by ten.
the worst ever? seeing low in a small club in portland back in the 90ās. they were already so quiet and restrained, and assholes just talked right over the top of them. what were they gonna do, turn it up?
at one point alan said āseems weird to pay to come to a show and then talk all the way through the show⦠you could have done that at home, for freeā in his reliably quiet, staring-at-his-shoes sort of way.
Talking at gigs/concerts does depend entirely on the context. Iām not against it per se.
People who talk at the cinema though? Come the revolution, they will be first against the wall!
I had a gf that talked in the cinema⦠needless to say it didnāt last long
Iām going to the royal festival hall show tomorrow. Will report back on the level of talking. Glad to hear that it was a good show otherwise.
Bit of a slow start but they got there in the end
Think I said this before elsewhere but when I went to see The Zone of Interest there was a couple chomping their way through a burger and chips and chuntering away to each other for the first fifteen or so minutes, which given the context and subject matter of the film, was unbelievable really.
Yeah I had a couple behind me smashing a huge punnet of popcorn. Felt really weird.
I gave up going to some venues in Dublin because of this. I been a gigs in Paris and Brussels in the last few years and as soon as the act came on everyone just stopped talkingā¦
A mate has just messaged me with a spare ticket to see them tonight
You should goā¦
How was this? I really wanted to go but couldnāt make it.
Went last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some people chatting got told to āshut the F Upā at one point by an audience member but apart from that it was fine.
Got to see Blood Incantation at Trix, Antwerp on Friday.
For me concert of the year so far, outlandish death metal with some early Tangerine Dream/Pink Floyd-ish excursions, right up my alley

Yep, straight on it especially after that review by @Hierbas
We had fun. Only went to Jamm for FK, Norman, Faith and a bit of Frank, but heard the Deep Into Soul party at Phonox with Spinna and Omar also v good. Last 2hrs of FK absolutely fantastic but slightly let down by average soundsystem.
I went to see a local band called Plantoid a couple of months ago, a combination of jazz fusion, prog and 70s rock - they were fucking great, so much fun and they really mean it, and Iād urge anyone who can to catch them (Iām seeing them again next month)
thanks for the tip, will check
Yeah I read an old review from @Hierbas few years ago and have seen them 2 times sinceā¦
