Yep, I’m going, with a pal and my daughter. Love it there. Had tickets carry over from the postponed september date
Saw that, what’s the venue like? Big echoey cavern or will be great?
I haven’t been in since it was an actual Victorian pumping station.
I know the Zap revival people have thrown a party there so it’s not untested.
Wildblood and Queenie were raving (pardon the pun) about the venue and the Zap party on 1BTN earlier, if that helps
I’d be up for that too if you do.
I’m there.
Tickets now on sale if anyone fancies it.
Well giant steps was amazing. First time for me. Luke una knocked it out of the park.
A mate was there said it was a great day/night…
Was great. Saw a few familiar heads. You know who you are.
Some of the best sounding records ever pressed. Added to my wants as I have a couple of the other 12’s on that label.
Yeah I thought he was great. Really fun evening, great crowd with good mix of older heads and younger folk. Luke was on a proper journey. Hardly recognised anything and shazam wasn’t helping much. This sounded great and just popped up on shazam this morning
He played the Harvey mix of DJ Food which sounded incredible on that system. Special mention to the bloke with the ipad in the middle of the dancefloor who was doing the occasional tweaks to the levels, never seen that before! Luke really pushed the volume on the klipschs at times but they stood up to it and it created good drama. Good to bump into Piers.
Great venue - I’m heading back there for Scruff in March which should also be a good one.
Just nabbed a copy on Discogs!
Agreed, really good. Been a few times now, always a great space and atmosphere. Great mix of people (I was there with a mate my age and my daughter who’s 28). Never heard Luke playing out before and I thought he was just amazing. Only Shazaam’d once about four hours in but didn’t pick it up (it sounded like a post-punk dance track but was probably nothing of the sort). Scruff sounds a good call, I might even go back for Giles Smith at the end of feb.
Daughter saw Scruff around Christmas said he was amazing.
Myself and Brian Not Brian are doing Giant Steps on Easter Sunday. No work on Monday so should be an absolute hoot. Can’t wait!
Just got Arushi Jain tickets at Corsica in May if anyone else digs her stuff. First London show. She’s incredible, two absolutely stellar records. Looking forward to it.
