Thanks. Yeah, that comes with its own perils though like losing USBs which I’m notorious for. Im packing double and a hard drive just in case
Bloody heck … enjoy
How many stop overs? We went to Thailand years ago December 27th Dublin - London - Helsinki - Istanbul - Bangkok
Its Manchester > Frankfurt > Sao Paulo > San Luis then a five hour ground journey to the site across sand dunes in a 4x4. Quite like the sound of the last bit, arriving James Bond style
I’m mostly gonna be fanboying over Lloyd tbh
Take loads of pics and post em, looks amazing!

Wolverton tonight for Hi Res, the longest running night in Milton Keynes…. A bag full of bombs across genres 90-144 BPM.
At least three of these
On Saturday 18th January, it’s Leisureware & Friends at the Wood Street Bear – Walthamstow’s foremost Balearic pub. West Norwood Cassette Library, Island Girl, Plots & Parcels and I will be spinning choice records from midday until last orders. Swing by for an extended session of fluid moods, squiffy grooves and cosmic jams.
Just back from Mareh in Brazil. Jeeesh that was some journey to get there and back. Almost 40 hours, 3 flights and a 6 hour car journey down some of the regions lesser well maintained rural roads. Arrived at 11pm a day and a half after I set out which sadly meant I missed Maurice Fulton, Jamie 3:26 and Lloyd who was the one I really wanted to catch. Anyway he was still around for a few days so we got to hang out. Unsurprisingly dude is one cool MF, he and some of the others kinda took me under their wing as the newbie Brit who didn’t know anyone. Arriving late meant I got a full days rest, refreshed for the big NYE party. Travelling to the event space at break neck speed in a dune buggy in the pitch dark is quite the way to arrive at a rave. Prins Thomas was headlining the NY party, he played some excellent chuggy cosmic stuff for the first hour before toughening up into some harder, percussive acid trax then dropped down into full on disco for the last hour. My legs had gone by 5.30am so I headed back, the party carried on til 10am so gutted I missed the sunrise on the Playa which is spectacular by all accounts.
The next day was a bit of write off, the energy was pretty flat after the previous nights celebrations but the following day was the final boat party which was a scramble to get on since everyone wanted to be a part of it. Once again it was a hair raising dune buggy and 4x4 race to get there. Anyway I secured a spot on board without too much trouble, it was a lot of fun. Mendel and Kennedy from Amsterdam were DJing, a little too much disco for me but it was nicely interspersed with classic US house and a lot of drum heavy samba stuff which made for a great atmosphere with the Brazilian crowd. We docked back at 6pm and I was playing at 8.30 so it was a race to reach the venue before it was cut off from the tide which comes in around 7pm each night. Typically it was a high tide that day and there were some fears we wouldn’t make it. Anyway the tide quickly receded and we made it just an hour late. I was worried the space would be empty but there were already 200 people there having it off, I went on at 9pm and it only got busier and busier. I was concentrating so hard I kept forcing myself to look up and it was just bananas every time. I wish I’d banged it a bit harder, they were so up for it but by 11pm it was completely rocking. I handed over to Eric Duncan who closed the festival down with some great, high energy acid, disco and house. Really thankful for the experience, just a shame the journey was such a drag as it took the shine off things a little
Sounds exhausting with all that travel, but what an amazing experience for you buddy
Thanks for the report, love the idea of having to race the tide to the rave!
Did anyone make it to WATS on NYD in London?
Yes, we popped in from about 1700-2030. Full of all the right sort of people. Was getting busy as we left. Sadly the pub had run out of AF beers by about 1900 (ever heard of planning for Dry January??), which curtailed our night earlier than planned. Music was great - both Tigerbalm and Stevie Kotey had the place rocking. Missed Sean.
I was there from 3pm until about 12, it was a great day / night.
I really enjoyed Stevie Kotey and Sean Johnston, and like Howler said, there was a really good crowd in there.
It did get very busy though and there were issues with the bar, but it didn’t effect the party.
Thanks, sounds good fun. Annoying about the bar though! Is it a good venue apart from that?
sounds mega @Joe ! Heading back next year?
I was there from 6pm until some point later on. Stevie good. Sean good. Andy T sounded good too but went before he got going. Everything you’d expect from the older Balearic/should know better by now party crew so lots of fun and messiness. The sound wasn’t great. Seemed to keep cutting out at first. It’s basically a pub with dj booth so on that basis it’s a great venue.
Good crowd description! Glad was fun
Bummed to have missed this. Was my only planned festive season night out and birthday next day, but a weeklong lurgy got me on the 30th.
