What you going to?

Youngest reported a pretty stormy night 1 at Lost Village, picked up now but looks like a wet day tomorrow for them.

something else here:
got a ticket for a ‘concert’ called ‘Nocturnes For A Society’, starts tonight at 7pm and finishes tomorrow 7am. Kind of an immersive sleep-over piece/soundscape based on the Deep Listening sessions by Pauline Oliveros in a chapel of a monastery here in town. Sleeping facilities for each participant provided by the organisation. No idea what to expect :grimacing:

Very cool. I would like to see them but low chance of them ever coming state-side and even if they did, would be a long way from me. I should consider myself lucky that I’m seeing Air in october.

Not exactly this forum’s cup of tea, at least majority-wise, but I saw Donald Glover/Childish Gambino earlier this month. Terrific show, a real spectacle, I’d put it in my top 3 concerts of all time probably. Great performance and from an entertainment standpoint, really of the highest quality; a lot of work put into stage craft and effects. Lighting and lasers were unlike anything I’ve ever seen, pyrotechnics used sparingly but well too.

Next one I’ve got is Billy Joel, next month.

Wow. Electronic didgeridoo?

More like an electronic oboe synth.
I used to do a party with an incredibly talented Detroit nutter called Onyx Ashanti playing along on one while walking around in the crowd. He’d get all sorts of sounds out of it.
He’s now back stateside and has developed a sort of exoskeleton with sensors that trigger the synth with his movement. Completely out there…

A little impression - it was mind blowing, a soundscape was made by capturing the sounds and voices from all participants and then treated through a modular eurorack device adding extra bleeps, glitches and sub bass, climaxing around midnight and then subsiding gradually, like ripples on water becoming less prominent - will continue floating out all Sunday :dizzy:
