What don't you get

We have a couple in Spain, they even design environmentally friendly clothes and yes, Tulum aficionados

They charge a fortune for their clothing also, there is one or 2 here in Ibiza.

Hippy rich. Don’t trust them

Try Untitled (Black is) and listen to it more as a mix tape than an album.

Here’s a few more that popped into my head today

The Foo Fighters (might as well go the whole hog and tack Nirvana on as well - Mudhoney were much better)

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and the Stevie Nicks aesthetic worship (I actually “get” why people love this but it still shits me)

Going out on a limb here - DJs who dance to their own sets behind the decks

Bands like Muse, Elbow, Placebo, Manic Street Preachers - fun crushers and boring as sin.

and one more - those people we all know who hit a certain age and decide that the music they enjoyed in their prime was the best music that ever there was and that everything since is just rubbish. No Kieth, you’re just boring, mate.

Speaking of DJ’s who dance more than the crowd, Nina Kraviz.

Foo Fighters are absolutely awful. Total Rawk cliché nonsense. Also Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Probably worst band ever vote for me

The Smiths - just can’t get past his voice and have felt vindicated in recent years that he’s a complete knob too…

If you’re not dancing to the tunes you’re playing, how do you expect the crowd to?*

*by dancing I mean getting into it, but not in an over-the-top kind if way, and definitely not doing that highly annoying flicky hand thing.

I think behind the decks is the key, if I want a bit of a boogie I come round onto the dance floor, I feel too much of a tit otherwise!

That’s because it’s actually a Mark Knopfler record

For me it’s what I think of as “gym music”–whatever chart-toppers they play, it all seems to run together–this sort of faux-gospel/soul singing mixed in with the overwrought EDM synth lines. I’ve shazamed a few times just so I know who it is.

D&B - I dig the textures and there are some brilliant, classic tracks, but I can’t imagine listening to hours of it.

I jump up and down like corn in a pan when I play, because I enjoy the hell out of my records and I dig dancing. I know some people think it’s for show, but I don’t care. Would hate to have to play standing still.

That’s a great tip. I love these islands of quality for very little cash that exist in record / music collecting. Nothing more disheartening than searching for records which are way out of reach…

C’mon, what about Playing with Knives (Quadrant Mix) and Mr Kirk’s Nightmare? There was some glitter in the dark.

I really really want to like Kendrick Lamar but his voice sounds weak and lightweight to my ears. He’s on point about everything as far as I can tell but just can’t listen to him, ha.

I’ve never liked Making Plans for Nigel so I’ve never bothered investigating XTC.

I’m all for people dancing behind the decks in a club. I don’t like the dancing behind the decks in a kitchen, in sponsored content in my Instagram feed.

XTC did some pretty good stuff, Skylarking is decent

Most UK rave groups: The Orb, Orbital, 808 State, LFO, The Shamen, FSOL, list goes on; I wouldn’t download it if they paid me for it, it only gets props cause it was the soundtrack to a social revolution & certain spokespeople popped their first pill to it.
