What don't you get

Baxter Dury … nope.

Yeah. (not) a chip off the old block.

Is anyone familar with the concept of “hot stampers”? The take is it’s not the usual criteria of first pressing or condition but a certain pressing is better than all the others

Comments are fantastic and the fact you can buy the “hot stamper” at a massive premium even if it’s got a big scratch is a selling point?

The grading they use is next level, have a look - I’m sure a couple of you resellers out there will realise you’ve missed a trick.

Check out the $600 copy of band on the run, my £1 copy is in better condition!

What a grift!

I really liked ‘Miami’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Dog’, but everything else has all been a bit meh.

No 2 records sound the same (i mean, they basically do - DJs can rock doubles without any noticeable difference) yet these guys definitely have the superior pressings of albums that sold in the hundreds of thousands? Oh, but some have “issues” so sorry if they sound like shit actually. Great pressing though!

It was funny when all the hardcore preppers realised that their biggest threat in this kind of situation would be other preppers, that really triggered the conspiracy itch. But yeah, it’s all just about making themselves feel better now, rather than actually surviving an end of times scenario surely.

Sites feeling the need to provide “content” - just host my mix/be a database/serve your purpose + stfu. I dont need a newsletter or videos presented by influencers with surface level knowledge.

I blame Daniel Billy Bunter.

I knew someone else started it

All the music on the app looks like it’s AI too.

I blame covid era Luke Una.

Kevin McKay is personable and enjoyable even if the hyperbole is ramped up on a few tunes that aren’t as incredible as he makes them out to be. Dave Lee is entertaining enough as well. There are of course, a bunch of youngsters who are shucking classic house with zero lived experience just for clout, but that’s always going to be a thing.

How about that Fish fucker, is he still a thing?
I must be 6 months free of Insta so don’t see any of it.

Saw a post recently claiming that King Of My Castle by Wamdue Project “changed the dancefloor”

It did not. I checked.

No, Modjo’s ‘lady’ was the underground weapon that turned the world (and dance floors) upside down.

Came to say something similar, but you’ve pretty much nailed it.

It’s the finger pointy smug nodding twats that wind me up. Giving that “I was there” energy. Sod off with your copy of Joe Smooth that isn’t even on DJ International.

this is complete bs and wildly subjective. I don’t know how anyone could take this guy seriously.

sure some pressings sound better than others, but without listing details it’s just one guys hot take.

also, a quick web-search shows he’s been called out numerous times over the years.
