We got some Lecresuset as a wedding present 22 years ago but the best deal I ever got was a set of 4 saucepans and a skillet in the same blue out of the Friday-Ad for £15!
Love the cast iron, keeps the heat, goes in the oven, easy to clean (we’ve never had a dishwasher, washing up is an opportunity to bond, kids
)
I think that you buy them once and they last the rest of your life. Thats my experience of ones I’ve bought in the early 2000’s. I just bought one or two at a time and you don’t really need too many.
Worth every penny. I’ve still got a Le Creuset casserole pot that is 21 years old and showing no signs of not lasting another 21 years. I had some pans that lasted around 15 years.
lost my le creuset dutch oven in the divorce. i’ll absolutely get another one.
cookware is expensive, but i think it’s worth the spend. knives, pots & pans, and a few choice appliances really make the difference.
Ours was a wedding gift and cracked in two on the first use!
Oh no!
Yes - if they’re legit they’ll last forever and it makes cooking so much less of a chore. You really only need a few things in a kitchen pace Anthony Bourdain, and in my experience as well–a good heavy pan and a sharp knife.
I’ve got a Le Creuset dutch oven that was passed down to my missus from her mum.
Her mum bought it in '85!
The little knob/handle thing on the lid broke a few years back, got a replacement.
Apart from that, it’s been bulletproof.
I purchased the full range of those Aldi Lecresuset copies - they’re good!
Edit- my facebook feed is nothing but ads for pots and pans since I posted about this topic!
I’m on a cast iron pan sub reddit.

Mrs J_C got me a few Lulu Lemon workout tops a while ago. They are really nice but I only just noticed they all have this kinda BS inside the arms and neck
…
Same - incredibly good value a few years back
Just pretend they’re the names of mid 90s house tunes
(Maybe not the last one)

Why there is yet another exhibition and book about the Blitz Club. Don Letts levels of milking it.
Don’t know much of his music bar bits heard on the radio at work.
However…
this one, I do remember fondly, causing mayhem on a couple of occasions at Optimo ![]()
I have a friend who had a side job as a designer for lululemon clothing. The job paid well. His main thing was art, and as an artist his work was incredibly dark with death and skulls and hellish themes. Well-regarded but intense artwork, it was quite the juxtaposition!
Why is David Beckham now the face for Bowers & Wilkins?
After underpants, air fryers, whisky, lager and on line tat, he now pushes expensive hifi.
I’ve learned that clarity doesn’t just come from slowing down, it comes from finding focus even when life’s moving at full speed. Music helps me carve out that space to think.
