You got a bargain! It’s an insane £55 on juno… DEODATO - Whistle Bump (Joe Claussell remix) Vinyl at Juno Records.
Wow! He should stick with the ufo chat, way more interesting
Hilarious and very valid. It really fucks me off that such a spectacularly wealthy man, who could easily spare a few of his millions funding worthwhile community arts projects, or funding artists from disadvantaged backgrounds, instead decides this should be his contribution.
It’s not even the best deodato tune… never understood the fuss over it
Is the remix a radical departure?
i know it’ll sell, but i hope it doesn’t. nobody should be rewarded for this.
I’ve never heard it. Wouldn’t bother considering it for those sort of $ollars
The epitome of a “celebrity”. Dull, stupid and nobody around to say, come on mate, don’t be a c@nt.
As much as I respect Joe’s spiritual, expansive, and deeply soulful journeys, sometimes I just want to hear the original. They do drip on a bit.
Another thing I don’t get, how Shazaam works.
It captures bits of a sound wave and matches it with the same bits of sound wave in its database
…and then it tells you that the record is Todd Terry “Jumpin’”. Apparently a DJ Lloyd staple according to Shazam.
At least it’s from the heart and not just a way to make a quick buck….(cough)
It’s shit isn’t it.
He’s taken the notion of the ‘tortured artist’ and made it overtly literal and obvious. There’s nothing for the observer to do, nothing to gain from looking at this crap.
I hope reviewers put aside their preconceptions related to him as a pop star because he’ll just attempt to highlight that as being indicative of the snobbery of the art world and that he is operating as an ‘outsider’ when in reality it’s just crap, whoever made it.
It would fail to get above a 4 in a GCSE art exam.
It’s wild how they have filled the database and how quickly it works.
I don’t live in the UK so maybe I missed out on it all - but I never understood what the fuss was about Robbie Williams. I can’t quite grasp what his great talent is that made him a star.
“He’s taken the notion of the ‘tortured artist’ and made it overtly literal and obvious.”
Nothing proves your point more than this absolute nonsense.
It’s incredibly vapid, and probably got a lot of thumbs ups from his bootlicker industry pals but as Jolyon said, I can’t image school kids putting this up for any sort of marking.
It’s as if he has seen David Shrigley (and accompanying success) and had a go but misses in all areas, especially humour.
If you cant buy something almost identical to this at The Range or Homesense (or any other purveyor of LiveLaughLove tat), I’d be very surprised.
I am sure the Robbie Williams collection will be coming to one of these places sooner rather than later.
