Jesus Christ. Is nothing sacred?
i honestly can’t tell if they’re joking.
Their marketing has been on a tear. Never thought I’d see an Eyes Wide Shut reference in a language app advert, what a world…
TikTok link here damn they even used the music
I know ticket prices for gigs have been getting out of hand for a while but this takes it to a new level. £190 for a restricted view at Ronnie Scotts to see Anderson Paak. Shame as sure it will be a great show Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals featuring Maurice Brown and GAWD - One Night Only - Ronnie Scott’s
Bought three standing tickets for my daughter and two mates to Lana Del Rey at Wembley as a post GCSEs present … £550 ![]()
Crazy times
I’ve noticed something lately that is just really a strange change that I didn’t expect. Young people at a DJ night/festival with DJ’s, standing near the DJ and talking really really loudly to their friends. Not dancing, not socialising or mingling, just standing on the spot shouting above the music. Obviously drugs are onboard and the words fly, but I have had this happen at the last few gigs.
Just a very long, VERY loud conversation all the way through the set. I brought it up with a friend (who is a working DJ) recently when he enquired how the gig went, he said that it happens all the time now. He plays his set while having to hear a very long, loud and trivial dialogue. Very much feels like a lack of self awareness or I really don’t get it.
Society of the Spectacle indeed ![]()
I noticed that the young team at the recent Glasgow ALFOS had zero awareness of the people around them. They suddenly stormed the front middle of the floor en masse and proceeded to do a weird circle dance thing, all facing each other. And elbows… fuck me, the elbows…
It reminded me of the Students Union Indie Disco of old. Bless their little hearts

DJ Koze
Everytime he has a new album out I think, right let’s give him another go. And everytime I am left wondring what the fuss is about. Does absolutely nothing for me.
I’m pretty much the same. I find his stuff quite odd.
Having said that I absolutely loved his rework of Operator by Lapsley.
This was happening at the front side in f stage watching Kamasi Washington on Friday. Just odd, go and stand at the back. Or better still save yourself some cash and go and sit in a boozer.
How was Kamasi? I’m going to see him on Sunday in London.
I got told to sit down at a Steely Dan jamboree, felt good as I looked the youngest around not to long ago either. Getting frowned at for enjoying the music.
Buschtaxi off the new album is a tune.
See also people watching stuff on their phones on public transport without any headphones
He had one good tune but I can’t remember the name of it. About sums it up really
I stopped paying for the Guardian because of Adrian Chiles but just occasionally he gets it right. The comments are well worth a read too
Louie’s garage sale is coming to a climax I wonder how Paul’s went and his Phillips boombox ?
This one?
Fingers crossed I win the $710 (plus 15% buyers premium) hat!
