It’s like how I remember the 70s and 80s all over again with the far right on the streets. And this thing with wearing the long flag tied round their neck so they look like they’re crusaders or the knights templars.

What is the St Geroge’s thing (I’m not English)? Wasn’t St George Italian?

St George is patron saint of about 31 countries or something like that… It’s desperately unremarkable that he happens to be patron saint of England.

I’ve been really embarrassed to be English for a long long time, the events of the last few hours just reinforce this even more.

Scotland and Wales have relatively progressive governance by comparison, but England is a joke, overpopulated by too many small minded self serving bigots

Where I live St George’s Day is called St Jordi and lovers swap books and roses, no knuckleheads though thankfully!

Every DJ who plays Coachella, etc and has visuals that magically sync up does a Hooky. Imagine being paid that much to essentially show up and get on the mic every once in a while.

I’m not embarrassed to be English. English people are pretty nice, very funny, very creative and invented every worthy music culture outside of black America. These biggots are not typical British. They have always been around, skulking on the perimeters until they have a day like this that they can gather en mass and try to pretend that THEY are THE British people. Well it’s not true for the rest of the time they are forced back in their shitty sidelined boxes where they belong. We are the real English, never forget it.

There’s a minority of nationalist bell ends like that in every country.

I was referring more to those that misrepresent how this country is seen overseas. Making decisions and espousing values which do not represent the morality and beliefs of many of us. The erosion of the welfare state, NHS, lack of investment in public services and privatisation. The myth of rampant exploitation of these services as a result of immigration.

That is what makes me embarrassed to be English.
