Yes I think so. Simple answer is turn the amp up to 11. I wonder if modern sound systems (it’s loud but you can still have a conversation on the dancefloor) are also a factor? When it’s proper old school LOUD there’s no issue.

i’ve paid next to no attention to grimes and i’ve got nothing but disdain for her baby daddy but
she did the theme song to “hilda” and i think that’s one of the best tv show theme songs of all time.
if someone in the know told me that it was ghost-written, i’d believe it, but if someone told me that she knocked it out in a few hours (because she can quickly crap out wild pop pastiches out of two chords) i’d believe that too.

I do love The Jam, some Style Council and some of his early solo stuff but I’ve not been able to listen to his recent stuff for quite a while. I do have a soft spot for the old cunt though
