What don't you get

People who get into fights on airplanes. Flew Jetblue to Orlando this week and landed well after midnight. This woman comes barreling up the aisle to get off the plane early shouting, “my dog is having a panic attack” and this other woman got up and basically did a not on my watch speech. Followed by a few well-timed slaps from both sides and the FBI having to board the plane. All they had to do was just get off the plane.

I think the whole end of the band thing was a blatant money grab. They were back pretty quickly afterwards.

people doing ketamine on flights probably isn’t a good idea

I guess so but I did find it really strange… as in they’re not stupid, they must’ve known how that would play with people who had travelled miles?

I saw LCD @ Brixton Accademy last year…and in all fairness, they absolutely rocked it. My best gig of 2022. Also thought their comeback album was pretty strong too with a couple of absolute bangers in it.

I am not into streetsoul and I am into almost every existing genre.

Donk?

When LCD reformed James Murphy did a long FB post that basically said he regretted the split and it was a mistake which you can sort of understand. It happens. But I know people that spent thousands travelling to NYC to that ‘final’ Madison Square Garden show and that explanation didn’t go down well with them I can tell you

Bit naive though. Of all the groups that split up surely its a large majority that reform at some point?

Yep. Only a matter of time before Oasis are thrust upon us again

Blimey. It’s horses for courses I guess but gabba, happy hardcore, drum and bass, indie landfill, drake, limp bizkit stuff over street soul?
I can’t stand Kanye because I don’t think he can rap his way out of a paper bag- but people i respect love him
What is it about street soul you don’t like? I’m interested as I have spent half my life trying to persuade friends, wives, ex wives and dance floors as to the merits of 90s and modern r n b

Hopefully not.

Don’t get the street soul revival either really. Not heard anything that’s really blown me away.

Love this one still

Let’s make it clear, I don’t hate the genre, it’s just that I don’t “vibe” to it. In general, I like similar genres like RNB, but even that is not on my daily playlist, it does get a play from time to time, when I’m in the mood. In the past year, I’ve encountered street soul mixes on many occasions and played these from beginning to the end, I also tried to do it in different moods in order to find the right time for this music, but I just couldn’t connect. The feeling that I have is that the music is too “soft”. I do likes some other forms of soft music though.

Not sure if this answers your question, these kinds of feeling are hard to explain. :peace_symbol:

We like what we like. There are classics and duds across all genres.
