What don't you get

Not against them on principle just can’t think of anything I’d want to have for the rest of my life.

We change so much so there’s nothing really that we like that is that completely permanent, you may as well choose something. Life is short, nothing matters.

My 2 cents anyway

A friend of mine is a bit of a plant freak, and he also keeps bees. He’s recently just had his favourite plants (complete with latin names) tattooed on his left arm. The whole thing is interlaced / woven within this geometric honeycomb looking structure. It looks nothing short of amazing. Whoever tattooed it has done a sterling job.

I always wanted to have the little plastic insert from a 45 single tattooed on my inner forearm, but never had the guts to go through with it.

Getting a tattoo for the sake of it seems a ridiculous idea to me though. You just wander into the shop, pick something and you’re stuck with it for the rest of your life. It’s a bit naff is that.

Not sure, at the ripe old age of 55, I’d ever consider going through with it now, but I do admire a well thought out, tasteful and meaningful tattoo.

I completely agree, for years I never really felt the need to get a tattoo for the sake of having one. This year has been particularly hard for my wife and I, I wanted something to mark the end of the hard times we have gone through and to signify the start of a new chapter for our family. I now have something unique that was designed specifically for me to signify this and I love it.

That’s amazing. Can we see? (Assuming it’s not somewhere private). Please tell me to fuck off if you’d rather not.

No problem, It’s not settled yet which apparently takes a few weeks. It’s all inky at the moment and is still under wraps, but this is how it looked on Tuesday after it was done.

That’s a beauty. What a great way to mark the start of a new chapter for you.

Of course now I’ve broken the cherry I have ideas for some more. We have three adopted kids and I’ve been speaking to the eldest two about having something to represent them as a way to help them to understand how much I love them and how they are a permanent part of the family. The youngest will need to wait for a few years as I don’t fancy having Pepa Pig or Blippi on my arm!

Ok you’re making me reconsider my blanket statement now (prompted by walking behind a bloke with massive arrows tattooed on the back of his legs pointing upwards)

We were on holiday last week at a caravan park in Devon and there were so many shit ones on display in the pool it was making me feel nervous about getting it done!

Sounds like a lot of thought went into it though, and that’s clearly reflected in your finished tattoo.

Yeah I’m bracing myself for Center parcs later this month

Next year we’ve decided to go to Center Parcs as it will be a whole level up from a Park Dean Caravan Park!

I may have said this before on here, but if I ever went missing and the police asked my family if I had any distinguishing features they’d have to say ‘yes, he doesn’t have any tattoos…or piercings’ :joy:
