I know I’ve only got myself to blame. I’m not after sympathy. I should’ve said no. I always said ‘never again’ and yet there I was at 18:30 yesterday evening setting up in a rural barn for a WEDDING!!!
When will I ever learn.
Up until 10pm it was as if we were invisible. The dance floor was empty apart from a bloke showing his 3 mates his attempt at ‘the Worm’. By 10:30 a good 80% of the men, mostly late 20’s early 30’s I guess, had tied their ties around their heads Rambo style. There was a lot of stamping and occasionally someone would throw themselves on the floor. They seemed completely unable to feel at ease on a dancefloor and had to do “outrageous” moves or gestures to cover their embarrassment.
By the end I was holding back particular records on the basis that ‘they didn’t deserve them’
Anyway, glad to have got that off my chest. Never again… honestly.
Not sure if you guys heard, but Livvy rizzed up Baby Gronk, and he might be the new rizz king, i think the Drip King might have something to say about it though…
The big unknown for me whether everything is resolved with the destruction of the Conservative Party or whether they are merely the symptom not the cause, whether something deeper and darker has been unleashed in wider society. How marginal are the antivaxx, antiglobal, antieverything voices who seem to transcend what we used to call left and right? And how far does the nationalism go? Because my fear is that the things that enabled the Tories to get away with so much are still there. Yes they were helped by the media and useless opponents but still, there was a market for it. I also think that tech has changed the game too. If people no longer defer to the (imperfect) BBC and just rely on shouty youtube channels, how do we ever come back together?
I did wonder a while back if the Tories know their days are numbered and they’re just running everything into the ground to make Labour’s job as hard as possible, because surely no one could genuinely be this shit at running a country.
Massive bunch of cunts either way.
The Tories have been in near permanent campaign mode for 8 years or so, not so much governance occurring. They’re now in fire sale mode, wholesale transfer of Britain’s wealth to their mates/donors.
Labour already dialling back on key proposed policies as they won’t be able to afford it.
Tories will always Tory. I expect they’ll be back in the game in a new even shitter Hard Right flavour after one Labour term…
After spending some time in the UK after a very long break, I don’t really understand how the Tories held power for so long, seeing that the country seems to have slowly but surely slipped into a pretty bad situation. Doesn’t the greater population of voters blame them for all this, as they were the party at the wheel the whole time. Or is it just a case of “that’s my party” in the 2 party system.
Unfortunately there’s no chance of the youth of this country getting political when the alternative to the current shower of shite in power is also another shower of shite.
I despise the Tories and the mess they’ve made over the past decade, but when the alternative is an uninspiring centre-right Labour Party who are essentially promising more of the same, what’s the point?
I’m 27 and joined Labour under Corbyn, and for a while I had genuine optimism for the future - it felt as if the Left had the momentum, and there was an air of positivity, a sense of hopefulness about genuine change being possible and a progressive manifesto to get behind.
All of that has now disappeared under the current leadership and the majority of my friends, most of whom never had any interest in politics previously but were actively on board with what Labour were setting out under Corbyn, now have absolutely no interest in politics and like myself, have no intention to campaign or engage in the next election.
