What don't you get

The powers that be have pulled the plug on David Holmes brilliant GWR night in Belfast  probably the best night in years for the city… Such a shame.

Sounds like his choice to stop?

Find a new place? Charge more? Surely both would still be fine to fill the party up? Sounds amazing.

Yeah it’s a strange venue but worked well for those nights. FK was booked to play soon. As you can imagine finding the right venue up there can be difficult.

it’s so true. there must be so many salty OG rockers that saw their beloved culture get botoxed thru the 80s, I guess it’s the same for us, cept we get to see it happen to dance and hop hop at the same time❤️

as for fortet, with streaming income aka piss run off, why not grab that paper while he can🤷🏾‍♀️

would not be surprised if by 2025 majors just start rolling out AI pop, and because they major share most dsp it will be like h&m, mcdonalds, Ikea music for the masses
*edit, that’s why there must always be a rebel alliance😉

So true. I never thought about the 70’s or 80’s rock tangent… even as a huge Psych and Garage fan.

Football pundits who live in the past. The old this would never have been allowed under Fergie crew are awfully dull. I’d much rather year from guys who spent their careers with absolute characters yo-yoing between divisions and relegation battles where they had 4 managers in the same season.

Derek Bailey. I once found an album by him at a car boot sale which I sold for lots of money. It is the worst record I’ve ever heard. Utter toss. I refuse to believe that deep down anyone could really enjoy it.

A red line for me.

You mean heavily swung triplet hats? I like it when it’s done right like old Murk stuff. Are you talking more modern stuff? Any examples

File under ‘shit house’ or ‘three bin bags pulled out of the council tidy tip house’ or ‘I’ll give you a fiver for whole crate house’ 5 years after it came out.

Someone post a few before I vote?

Same. I want to say :person_raising_hand:, but want to know what I’m voting against.

When i hear skippy hihats, i think Rude Movements (OPOLOPO Remix Extended Version) - YouTube

I just watched a set(skipped through) on YouTube. A guy was playing an Acid Jazz set. All not rare tunes, all dirt cheap and readily available second hand. He had both vinyl decks and a controller in his set up but the set was played on the controller. the mixes were non existent. He may as well have just turned Spotify on and walked away. These meddling kids!!
