Never been a big fan of Bob Dylan, he’s got maybe one or two songs I can tolerate. Big fan of his son, Jakob, though.
Never cared for Janis Joplin.
Never been much for Deep Purple, either.
A lot of acts are enjoyable or just okay to me but don’t quite meet the hype. The Beatles, Madonna, Nirvana, Whitney (talented just not much for her voice to be fair).
Think of it like remixers or edits. Just like you know what to expect from a Theo Parrish edit or a Carl Craig remix. Most performers and conductors have a particular style or approach they bring to the music generally, so you kind of know what to expect when you see the name. Karajan will be big, dramatic, expressive, heroic…Gould will be slower tempo, rhythmic, relatively dry, will highlight structure, etc.
System Olympia Close to my Nebula is an edit of this but how on earth did she/they get rid of the drums without the original multitrack? Is there some kind of mega AI software available that can remove a complete drum track? Or am I being thick? Is it all about connections and they did in fact get hold of the original multitrack stems?
Ha ha! That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Hilarious. When you don’t know whether you’re playing records or standing in the shower you know it’s time to go home.
seen him play at plastic people a few times. he could be great at times imho and then off the mark.
Love his old records but the newer stuff I’m not feeling.
