proper journalistic doc on netflix (which makes a change from their usual 6hr sensationalist deadend docs) about DSK and his many unpunished scandals.
Started watching Yellowstone. One series down and onto the 2nd. Was never a fan of Kevin Costner but I don’t mind him in this. Lots of nice denim and plaid if that’s your thing. What is a load of gash is something on Netflix called ‘Behind her eyes’…Awful !
Yeah I saw that too - brilliant story, nice lad.
So going in on that one.
New Adam Curtis first episode didn’t grab me as hard as previous projects
Finally watched Eureka (Hackman, Pesci, Hauer, Rourke), enjoyable
Yeah big ups for the terror! The cast is phenomenal, ciaran hinds and your man from chernobyl as the captains. Super gritty granular sets and props, very immersive 19th century environments, really claustrophobic and oppressive. You can smell the whale oil
Another great Storyville doc, loved it, great use of music from Loscil as well
Watched it, thanks for the tip. Any other Storyville docs you can recommend?
Hoop Dreams is an amazing Storyville doc, on iplayer at the moment, well worth checking out. A film about two young basketball players filmed over several years.
Yes that one is a firm favorite of mine already
The Mole was a bit of an eye opener, and The Bush one. United Skates one also.
The Silk Road one was good as was the one about the guy that drew the frog meme. Tbh they’re all great. You know how Netflix always strings it out for 6 - 8 hours and it’s always too long - Storyville is always just perfect. Saying that there’s a few three parters but they were also genius.
United Skates was amazing
I love the frog guy, such a dude. And great hair.
Eden. dreadful film. decent soundtrack mind.
Yeah this was brilliant. A fine documentary.
Call My Agent on Netflix, tres amuse
Watching Isle of Dogs again. I love this film. It’s on C4 On Demand.
Have you seen Victoria? Worth a watch
Just started watching ‘Your Honor’ on now TV with Bryan Cranston as the Judge, good so far, but lots of ‘i can’t watch this’ moments.
