Yeah, i noticed someone had posted before… i must pay better attention
Think it was early doors, cream always rises to the top, he drove past our old road which was nice!.
Maiden (Netflix)
The remarkable story of Tracy Edwards and the 1989 Whitbread Round the World Race. Superb
I used to work with Tracy, she was an inspiration in many ways, nothing was too hard
Crazy levels of determination against a backdrop of misogyny.
Finished After Life last night. Agree some of the characters are annoying and silly, and the comedy / shock value is a little bit over the top, particularly this series. I think its done to balance out the sentimentality, but its just a bit jarring. The ending did get my right in the feels though; the human side of it was great. Ricky Gervais does write some smart TV, this is one of his best.
Just watched The High Life on Mubi.
BLOODY HELL
Is that the Claire Denis Space one?
Yup, that’s the one!
One of the best sci-fi films of the last few years imo
season 3 out takes are up on youtube now…probably funnier than the program itself
nearly finished part 1 of the final season of ozark…just as good if not better than the previous season but so frustrating they’ve split it into 2 parts with 7 episodes in each…i want to know how it gets resolved!
This weeks films have been Prospect, an indie sci fi film from a couple of years back, very good and just watched Pig with Nicholas Cage. Can’t work out if I liked it or not. I think so. A bit of an odd ball.
Just started on dopesick on Disney. 1st episode was good.
The responder with Martin Freeman (iPlayer). Watchable.
I went to see that one on the big screen when it came out a few years back. One of the worst movie experiences I had. Really arrogant movie, nothing worked.
New Del Toro is a true feast for the eye. Incredibly pleasant to look at, like Liquorice Pizza was. Amazing how much better movies look like without CGI. Thought Bradley Cooper lacks some charisma for the main role but all the others actors delivered good performances and were well casted.
Completely vacuous. I cannot stand him
Have you seen Silver Linings Playbook with him, Jennifer, Lawrence, Jackie Weaver and DeNiro? He’s brilliant in that, whole film is pretty great actually.
I really liked it, but I love Denis.
