Watched the Trump South Park last night.
They didn’t hold back…
Its well worth a watch if you can find a copy, might be bit of a task as its never been streamed.
Unforgivable. Really well written (Mcgovern always is) acted everything. Not a cheery Saturday night viewing.
Recently rewatched all 7 Seasons of Mad Men - surely top 5 TV shows ever made. It was even better the second time around.
Watched 2 films last night - Meet The Fablemans, which I had never watched as I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I’m a sucker for a coming of age story and did enjoy it.
Then I noticed Scorsese’s After Hours was on one of our free to air channels and jumped in. It’s been about 30 years since I’d seen it and it was great. With the benefit of hindsight and a more mature eye, I could see some directorial parallels to Taxi Driver and Mean Streets. Bonus points for Marty’s cameo in the punk club scene.
Always loved After Hours, also not watched for years will give it another watch thanks for heads.
Assassin on Prime completely unbelievable but quite good fun.
Big fan of After Hours also. Re-watched it a couple of years ago, still good.
Totally. The Kodak/Carousel episode of Mad Men is one of my favourite TV moments.
Finally finished S02 of Andor on Disney+. In summary, it took about nine episodes to get going. I loved the first season (and Rogue One) but found this season hard to follow and difficult to engage with – I almost gave up several times. The last three episodes, though, were great.
There were definitely several filler episodes. Loved the Ghorman(?) outfits and French accents though
Just finished a re-watch of Chernobyl. Realised its from the same writer / showrunner as Last Of Us, and it’s arguably the superior series.
Hard to fathom what a monumental f-ck up that was.
Love Jared Harris.
Been meaning to watch Chernobyl for ages, this could be the nudge I needed as love Last of Us
Mad Men is just so good. Currently half way through season 4 on a rewatch. There’s so much going on in the background that you miss unless you go back and watch it again.
We gave The Fablemans a go on a transatlantic flight. Given Spielberg’s recent middling output we found it actually rather good, it felt sneakily well-written and should be as the script is by Tony Kushner. The young Spielberg doing a Riefenstahl “Olympia” on the jock bullies in his class was kind of brilliant. And David Lynch as John Ford…chef’s kiss.
I watched Bill & Ted Face The Music with my son the other night. Now you don’t have to. God awful.
Watched both episodes myself last night, really good viewing. Mad to think what goes on so close to home ain’t it.
Official? Unofficial? Brilliant anyway…
just been watching the news. Hope the TP Pacific crew are all safe from the Tsunami
