Not as good as the OG, but much better than the usual US remake. Brolin is good

I did not believe a word she was saying

True this story changes so much. The dogs on the streets of the west end know the real story as do most that frequent the area for work and running businesses there, its a very shady place I know it very well and have friends who managed bars there for over 20yrs. Not that I’ll be spilling any stories here but maybe over a beer sometime… :beers:

Sky Arts earlier, show about the Night Fever exhibition in Dundee. Way to make an interesting subject really dull.

I mean the TV show was dull, the exhibition looks great.

Don’t watch Snowtown. Great film about Australia’s first serial killer, but left me quite traumatised.

Yeah that was pretty unpleasant. Watched it years ago and one particular scene still haunts me.

Woman at War (4OD)

Watching this again as I loved it when I saw it at the cinema. Highly recommended Icelandic comedy/drama

So this left a fairly unpleasant taste in the mouth for me. She attributes her success at turning herself around to her own determination. Whilst she did have that, what she had more of was pretty Western White girl.

She even said herself, in her job inside the jail, she didn’t know what she was doing. Well that seemingly was enough for every one in there who has grown up with the ideal of beauty being White and pale skinned.

Similarly, her role as warden. She was White, and that was enough. All of those people inside with her for doing exactly the same thing she had. Where were the journalists for them? Where was the intense press scrutiny? She won the lottery of birth and genetics and as ever, even in situations where you’re bound by another countries laws, that was enough. Because she was White and pretty.

“Together” on BBC iPlayer. Thought it was brilliant. Makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you angry. Well worth a watch.

I only watched 3 episodes and that was more than enough…

Thankfully it was only 3 episodes. That was more than enough of her bullshit. The whole warden thing was made up, the learning Spanish, made up etc etc. You could just tell it was bollocks she was spouting from beginning to end.

100% all BS… My Mrs was unfortunate to watch episode 3 not knowing anything about this new remake so to speak and when she realised what it was she said When did this all happen lol. It was like a Holyoaks late night Ibiza special.

Making The Cut on Amazon Prime. It’s basically Project Runway, but more focussed on the design part than the craft. The new season has just started and it’s been really good, although the absence of last season’s judge Naomi Campbell is really felt as she was great entertainment value. I’m not always that interested in these kinds of shows but the vision and talent and skill that these contestants have is unbelievable to me, and even in this season where they’re stuck in one location it’s really obvious they’ve spent a considerable amount of money on making the show look visually stunning.
