Loved Amandaland. Might’ve actually preferred it to motherland by the end. Now quickly moving though slow horses, into series 3 now, great stuff.

This was really interesting, some stories I had not heard before, especially Buang-Ly getting the US to throw all their helicopters overboard the aircraft carrier so he could land with his family! incredible

Yes, the amount of footage they used I’d never seen before was amazing and some of it looked like it could have been filmed yesterday. And pushing those Hueys off the aircraft carrier was just astonishing.

Its not as comprehensive or as deep as the Ken Burns documentary but an excellent companion piece nonetheless

Did you clock that the woman who owned the restaurant was the nun from Derry Girls? I didn’t until my wife pointed it out.

Aye, she’s on the great pottery throwdown too, which I actually really enjoy

I watched the trailer for Zero Day on Netflix and saw De Niro berating a bunch of people in the street for panicking and apparently that’s un-American?

And he said ‘We’re American… we’re better than that’ and I thought LOL no you’re fucking not :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

God help me but I am actually watching Zero Day. It’s terrible but weirdly compelling.

Just finished Asura on Netflix. Great Japanese drama directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda who did Shoplifters etc (great film).

Quite gentle but great characters and writing, beautifully shot. Recommend.

Just finished all 5 of Yellowstone. Good solid show up until the shenanigans (off set) around season 5.

White Lotus 3 up next!

Really enjoyed this!

A Thousand Blows, very old Landaan taahn oliver twist clichés and peaky blinders styling (obvs) but entertaining and looks great.

Enjoying this. Zero Day, not so much. Managed one episode and I’ll not be going back to it.

This deeply weird Arena documentary from 1991 about Peter Blake and Kendo Nagasaki

I remember the unmasking of Kendo Nagasaki on World of Sport, was a huge TV moment in my life at the time.

Looking out a few things to catch at CPH:DOX next month. Some interesting stuff on the days we’re there. And the premier of the film my gf was the Editor which looks great; based on the book by Robert MacFarlane & Jackie Morris.

Severance is setting the good TV bar at the minute IMO. Continues to draw you in unlike anything else
