really odd film. Based on a classic Photographic Monograph by Danny Lyon, hence the photographer character but you’re right, its just a beautifully styled recreation of the photos. really odd.
new one from the guy who made Scavenger’s Reign
I just read a sample of this based on your recommendation. It looks great and I’ll get the book. Thanks for the suggestion
Loved Scavenger’s Reign (a tip from here I think) will check this out.
Severance had to remind myself of a lot of Season 1, started Season 2 yesterday. Playing a slow catch up
Worth it. We watched S1 again in advance of S2.
I wasn’t going to but glad I did. Had that frustrated excitement again at the end of season 1 so dived into season 2 fully amped. Having to wait a week for each episode is a bit of a killer though. Just want to binge the whole thing.
Black Bird on Apple TV - some really great directing and performances throughout. Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall is chillingly disturbing.
“Inspired by actual events, when high school football hero and decorated policeman’s son Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison, he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. Keene quickly realizes his only way out is to elicit a confession and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hall’s appeal goes through. But is this suspected killer telling the truth? Or is it just another tale from a serial liar?”
Just watched Queer the new Luca Guandigno film and man it’s a cracker. Daniel Craig exceptional in it. Another brilliant soundtrack from Trent Reznor too, what a great run he’s on. Brilliant movie.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
The new Luther Vandross doc starting now on Sky Arts
We’ve been watching loads of old movies with my 18yr old daughter since Christmas, she loves the 80s - early 90s since she saw The Breakfast Club one night… …
Ferris Buellers Day off yet?
Of course… pump up the volume and heathers are her favourites…
Watched that a few weeks back, very good! Shame how the discussion about his weight and sexuality over took the praise for his talent. Seemed like a lovely guy
Yellow jackets season 3
Deranged teenagers on mushrooms in an Andes type plane crash Lord of the Flies situation
Nearly Normal Family on Netflix, scandi crime drama. Lots of twists. Very good
Yeah he came across as one of the good ones, elegant, charming, hard working, gentle, thoughtful, grounded, loyal…an old fashioned gentleman, not many of them about these days.
He was obviously very self conscious and vulnerable about his weight , even though he could be self-deprecating about it, and the media, of course, made it worse.
The sexuality thing made me sad for him, he was right that it was no one’s business but his own but I hope he didn’t die feeling lonely and unfulfilled just because he was too concerned with how it would affect other people.
really enjoying this. The DEA cop pair are so wholesome
We watched Deliverance for the first time in years last night. A mate had never seen it. I think he wishes we had chosen something else.
“Boy’s got a rurl purdy mouth!”
