Strike: An Uncivil War. Nextflix

A pretty damming account of the Governments handling of the Miner’s strike and the brutal police tactics at the Battle of Orgreave.

Anyone watching Kaos on Netflix? We watched the first one last night and loved it. It’s a modern adaptation of the Greek myths which could be very pretentious in the wrong hands but it’s done in a very funny way, brilliantly staged and conceived. Jeff Goldblum is superb as Zeus.

On my list to watch, maybe this weekend.

Yeah we really enjoyed it, great cast and some Peak Goldblum. Thought Prometheus & Dionysus were fantastic! We kept the Netflix thing going by following it with Perfect Couple (Nicole Kidman)… which is time I will NEVER get back. Shudder.

Love this. New series started on Sunday.

Not sure what to think of it personally, 3 episodes in and it has it’s moments for sure, some great characters but I’m not convinced by much of the acting. If it weren’t for Goldblum I’d probably have given up tbh.

Whatever you do, do not go looking for story elements for part 2 of the game

Maniac (2018 on Netflix). So. Fucking. Good.

Devs. First epiosde was great.

The Leftovers. After three epiodes it was all a bit dry for me.

I thought Maniac was amazing too :+1:

We watched St Maud on saturday night which was miles better than I thought it was going to be. I loved it.

Last night we watched the original 2022 version of Speak no evil included with Prime. Absolutely horrifying and recommended if you want to be horrified.

Watching a few reviews of Megolopolis which all seem to say the same, they’ve had to watch it so we don’t have to.

I watched Maniac back when it came out and everyone I know who I recommended it to thought it was weird as shit. I am sure a lot of these people will revisit it and say they loved it now. It was ahead of its time. Severance has that kind of energy. Another one I thought held promise was the one where Paul Rudd finds out he has been cloned, I forgot the name of the series but it was quirky and cool IMO.

Living With Yourself? Looks good, will investigate.

I was looking for recomms for shows like Severance when I found Maniac. Got a massive list of weird and wonderful stuff from Reddit.

Living With Yourself is great, nice mix of humor and existential drama/storytelling. The only issue I have with it, is that it was supposed to go on, and never did. Wasn’t billed or marketed as a limited series, Rudd was contracted for multiple outings, it wasn’t cancelled, ends with plot threads to follow further. It’s just quietly been forgotten, by everyone including Netflix themselves.

Mozart series on the iPlayer. Great tv.

Yeah, for a while I held out hope, now I think it’s pretty much dead, which is a pity.

Elizabeth Taylor series on BBC. Super apart from the terrible modern music in places…
