My wife was too freaked out by the earlier seasons, so I watched s3 alone, very late at night… I’ve never experienced anything like the atmosphere it created! Stayed with me for months

Currently watching the sky at night (not the Patrick Moore tv series). Woke up about 3am this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep as was particularly muggy down here in south east England. Being lucky to live in the deep, dark countryside I ventured into a field and laid down for half an hour to witness a pretty spectacular display of Perseids’ meteors, one lasted for over a second, probably travelling about 40 miles in that bright burst, it also left a brief smoke trail. If there are any clear skies tonight keep a lookout as there will be more… (no subscription required).

A wee, life-saving, gem of a place - that means I can still get the occasional big screen thrill. Volunteer-run, BYOB and £5 a pop. Random screenings at random times. Brilliant!

Yeah watched The Witch also- not as good. (riff on The Crucible really) but still spooky. Any other recommendations from this ‘period drama psychological’ angle appreciated.
