i’ve been struck with the covid AGAIN so i’m chilling at home so quarantined, watching the little league world series (baseball).
i’m not a big baseball person, it’s one of those games where i’d sooner watch the kids than the pros. i feel the same way about soccer. at a point, everyone gets too good, and then absolutely nothing happens. but i do like going to MLB games a couple of times a year - it’s nice to sit outside on a nice day and wait for something to happen, and here in seattle the food at the stadium is really good. low impact.
during my years of under-employment, i used to walk my dog to my local park and watch the little league for a couple of hours. it was fun to cheer on both teams, i didn’t care who won or lost, i just like seeing them try. or often, not try at all. i’m sure the parents suspected that i was a weirdo.

Long had a fascination with the early attempts on Everest esp Mallory and Irvine expedition.
This is great if you haven’t seen it -Conrad Anker and Leo Houlding attempting sections on the mountain in the same 20’s gear
The og bbc documentary on the discovery of Mallory’s body is also kicking around on YouTube which has the original footage of the Mallory and Irvine research expedition

Stretching the definition of celebrity…I guess ‘People who’ve been in stuff and like cooking/eating Masterchef’ isn’t quite as punchy. May have to defect to Cooking with the stars.

Ah OK, well I’ve at least heard of one of those, which is a better hit rate than usual
The other one is Jade Goody’s husband. Its strictly Z list slebs but ill not have a bad word said about RATW, its great telly.

Gonna be watching this sometime this week, never heard of it before but picked up a DVD copy for 50p in a local charity shop.
Mesmerising. Probably should’ve gone in the Slow TV thread, tbh.
