Back watching the Sopranos last few nights as my Mrs only watched last 2 series when they aired… Oh my sweet Adrianna.
It was definitely true
I met Mark when I was about 9 and again more recently. A genuine nice guy.
been rewatching the american version of ‘the killing’ based loosely on the original scandi noir series…features first time lead roles for mireille enois and joel kinnerman…pretty good
Just finished Mare of Easttown.
Superb series finale. Kate Winslet is dynamite.
I’m running through again in sync with the Talking Sopranos podcast, must be my (at least) fifth complete run through - gives you a real insight into each scene the actors etc little odds and sods. There’s other TV that I like but for me nothing has ever come close. The stars aligned when that show was cast.
finished mare of east town. best tv of the year so far
also the pact on bbc was ok, definitely watchable.
just started on Halston and enjoying that too.
It’s become a bit of a cliche to say but it really is the best TV i’ve ever seen, it’s stuck with me over the years as well whereas 95% of Television & Film i’ve seen, even stuff i’ve thought was fantastic, i’ve forgotten the storyline & plot, weeks, months, years later, not so with The Sopranos.
It also features my favourite ever TV character, Christopher Moltosanti, the episode with his Intervention is comedy gold.
Mare of Easttown just put most stuff on television at the minute to shame. Kate Winslet is outstanding. The fact she refused to let anyone edit out her imperfections on screen has cemented her icon status with aplomb. Bravo.
I re-watched Oliver Stones The Doors which has just appeared on Netflix 30 years after watching it several times and loving it as an impressionable teenager. I found it quite hard to watch this time. Very disjointed with Meg Ryan massively mis-cast and Billy Idol leaving me in a state of shock ha. Val Kilmer did a decent enough job but his giant teeth and overly acted mouth became quite annoying as the film progressed. The fake beard was also very amusing. He obviously struggled to grow one as a younger man. Nico and the come here Morrison line was still as amusing as it was 30 years ago as was the coked up blood sucking sex scene. Michael Madsen was a good choice for Tom Baker. I am sure I read that Jim Morrisons Mom wanted Kevin Costner to play her Son.
First Dates Hotel
Is there a new series? Always entertaining
The “hey! let’s form a band!” bit is very funny
It’s ok telly. I like the old couples with their stories
Finished watching Eastbound and Down last night which my girlfriend adores. Who’d have thought.
Also watched Free Solo again the other day. Inconceivable how he can do that shit. Honestly sweating just writing this post and thinking about it again.
Eastbound and Down had some great laughs… Loved the first couple of series
It was the perfect role for Danny McBride. The show is worth watching until the final episode in the fourth season, mainly for Kenny’s batshit screenplay he writes about his own life. Had us in stitches, even if previous episodes were hit and miss.
If you’ve never watched Love On The Spectrum, it’s probably the most heartfelt, sweet, real and raw show on tv at the moment.
I watched the new comedy special by Bo Burnham last night after seeing all the hype in the press. Definitely one of the best things I’ve seen to come out of the pandemic. Wouldn’t necessarily describe it as pure comedy, more performance art, but definitely unlike anything I’ve seen before. Recommended!

That is great! Thanks for the tip.
Exactly what we experienced, wigs were also hilarious. His singing was pretty good tho.
