Going to watch this later tonight

Just watched Nimona on Netflix with the family. Was surprisingly good. The fact that both kids had zero reaction to two men kissing in an animated childrens film gives me hope for the future.

That’s on the list after a short break from the frontline of war tv.

Kleo on ‘flix, sort of German Killing Eve in post Wall fall Berlin.

Oh that’ll be good x

Mrs Chris (not keen on horrors) has been away with work for 2 days so I caught up on some new ones and a rewatch of Kill List.

Older Gods 3/10
Kill List (Repeat) still 9/10
Infinity Pool 8/10 Mia Goth is brill in this
Cobweb 7/10 (bit jump scare old hat, but not bad)
X - 8/10

Kill List is great and Neil Maskell is always good.

Love horror, but struggle to find good ones. Re-watched Martyrs on night shift last week. Proper fucked up. Loved it when it came out, but not a film I had the urge to watch again for a long time.

Really enjoyed X and Infinity Pool…

X was really good, it had a nice nod to Texas Chainsaw Massacre I thought in terms of setting and style. Mia Goth and Jenna Ortega were brill in it.

Infinity Pool was also great, Mia Goth again, that scene with her on the car bonnet is so good

Kill List is so good. Did you see that Ch4 thing Utopia? Neil Maskell as the wandering kill machine that was always looking for Jessica Hyde.

Haven’t seen Martyrs. Will have a look…

If you like Kill List you might like Bull.

A few other recent horrors/supernatural films I’ve enjoyed: The Innocents (2021), Saint Maud, Bacurau, The Fits

Really enjoyed Bull (a recommendation off here). It’s on iPlayer just now. And Saint Maud is my favourite horror of the last few years.

Re-watching The Thick of It. Would be very happy for another series in this day-in-age.

Rye Lane

Sort of a black twist on all those London set rom com’s. Has a really unique style and asthetic and genuinely funny. Good soundtrack too

I really enjoyed Bull, just watched it last week. Saint Maud is excellent. Will check out the others

My kids took me to the imax in Fountainbridge to see Oppenheimer. Enjoyed it, but it did have all the usual Nolan flaws, particularly the editing and being too long.
