Love me some crime TV from around the world, and if you liked Gomorrah I highly recommend ‘Kin’ set in Dublin and made by RTE. Second series just aired…really good stuff
Second series is good. Francis Magee is terrifying as Bren is every scene…
Excited for S3, loved the first 2!
“Francis Magee is terrifying as Bren is every scene…” totally…his acting coupled with the amazing sound design = incredible dread / tension
Haha yes, half way through Season 2 after reading review in Guardian. Was a guilty pleasure I thought, feel vindicated now I know you guys like it too. ![]()
…Martin Short is great in it, no idea why he isn’t top top tier Hollywood, absolutely ace in Inherent Vice.
It’s a total romp, isn’t it? Martin Short is superb.
Watch couple of episodes of this last night, same subject as Dopesick but at bit faster paced, definitely worth a look.
Thanks to all who recommended the bear … zipped through series one after one false start where I couldn’t get into it. Second series shaping up nicely too
Working my way through Curb season 3. So good.
Also Ralph Fiennes directorial debut Coriolanus is on Mubi right now. Great adaption of a Shakespeare into modern day by an actual Thespian.
Other than that, footballs back.
About to re-watch of The Wire. After watching Sopranos start to finish again for the first time since it was on TV I’m now inclined to go back for this after seeing some clips lately that reminded me how great it was
started on s6 off sopranos.
just finished Silo (apple tv). was pretty watchable albeit some terrible acting from Common.
Nice . Reminds me of two lane blacktop which is a great film

i’ve found that people who love ‘easy rider’ hate ‘two lane blacktop’ - and vice versa. especially the ones who saw them when they first came out.
me myself, i’m on team ‘two lane blacktop’.
Starting the new season of How To: With John Wilson. The camera-toting sociologist we need!
Such a unique and strangely heartwarming show.
Currently watching all the Parkinson tributes. Had forgotten how funny Connolly was on there ![]()
I lived in New York for a time and it is pure nostalgia for the insanity of that city. Brilliant.
What’s it on?
