What are you watching?

Just watched Widows. Steve McQueen is a genius. Aside from having a couple of plot holes you could drive a getaway van through, it’s an amazing bit of filmmaking

Attacking The Devil (Netflix)

The story of the remarkable journalist and editor, Harold Evans and his fight for the victims of the thalidomide scandal. In a word now where journalists are constantly scorned, this is a timely reminder of the importance of good, investigative journalism.

Rewatched this recently. More enjoyable if you are into skating but still worth a watch even if it is slightly biased towards the Pappas brothers. Available on Amazon Prime.

Went down a skating wormhole after watching…again, if you were into it in the late 80s and 90s you will get more out of this but it’s entertaining to see how Steve Rocco tore up the rule book in terms of advertising, graphics, publishing and film making creating several enemies in the process and kickstarting some notable careers.

Played that Ann Consuelo track at a New Years house party at midnight, someone cried. Height of my powers, been downhill ever since.

If any of you need something lighthearted to watch this weekend I would thoroughly recommend Palm Springs

Fresh take on the time loop groundhog genre and was enjoyed very much in the corfcorf household - just dropped to watch on Amazon Prime

This Is A Robbery…on Netflix about the world’s biggest art heist, just finished it, bit of a rum do, still sadly, & annoyingly, unsolved.

Anybody watching the Charles Sobraj story/drama The Serpent on Netflix? Worth investing time in?

Yes, it was excellent. Dark and sinister and the 70s styling was great.

Just finished Lupin - a bit far fetched but enjoyable nonetheless.

Finding Jack Charlton - I’m a huge football fan but for some reason I really didn’t fancy this at all but so glad I eventually gave it a go. An absolutely brilliant documentary - highly recommended whether you’re interested in the game or not.

It’s been said before but if you’ve not seen Call My Agent get on it. Great entertainment.

I was listening to some JP and these reaction videos popped up on YouTube… Funniest things I have watched in years… These two… Lol

Watched an Italian film called Dogman last night which is available on the channel 4 player. Excellent stuff

I’m not buying these first reactions videos on YouTube at all. There’s two young guys doing them, they’re blatantly just making it up for effect

Caught Queen & Slim yesterday. Should have liked to watch it in the cinema. Really enjoyable but slightly odd film.

There’s a weird tension between the drifty, episodic plot, gorgeous cinematography and amazing soundtrack that feels best enjoyed with brain slightly disengaged, and the urgency of the topic. Felt like a lot for one film to take on, or maybe that was the point, dunno. I liked how Andre Wagner’s killer photo is woven into the fabric of the story.

Nice to watch after Widows to see Daniel Kaluuya handle diametrically opposed roles with equal aplomb.

Hell of an actor. Watched Judas & The Black Messiah last night and he’s amazing in it. Can see why he’s got the oscar nod.
