Looking forward watching this.
Season 2 of The Bear is coming to the UK in the next few weeks I think. Season 1 was so good, another great TP forum recommendation. Such a nice corner of the internet ![]()
Just watched EP1. I’m all in, great recommendation ![]()
Tour De France 2023 highlights. The next three weeks at 7pm will be taken up with year two of the Vingegaard v Pogacar duel.
Other broadcasters could take lessons from the production company that puts together the ITV4 coverage. High brow enough to keep the connosieurs happy, yet engages with newcomers on all the strategies, intricacies and nuances without being patronising
Looking forward to this…
I started Mr Inbetween after Jolyon’s recommendation. Superb. Did a series in one night.
The new Indiana Jones is a lot of fun. The opening sequence alone could be the climax for most action movies
The good news is … it just gets better and better.
Yeah I’m loving it already. He’s a great character. Well they all are.
Started watching series two last night, might be me but something seems a little ‘off’ compared to last series, editing maybe, dunno seems a little less ‘gritty’, all acting still top notch, Matty M getting better and better.
It’s definitely a slow burn build up to s2, letting other cast members have their moment. Worth it for the payoff IMO.
Still great obvs! ![]()
Pissing down here so I’m getting stuck into series 2 of The Bear on episode 4 now… Just me and the dog as Mrs and daughter are gone to limerick visiting friends for the night
.
Enjoyed the finale of Silo. Threw up more questions than answers but nicely set up for season two.
Loved episode 6…
And took me way too long to recognise who plays the mother…

I watched the Wham doco that’s on Netflix with my wife last night and really enjoyed it. My takeaway from this doco was that you don’t have to have been a fan of the duo to recognise that here were two 12 year old mates, sons of immigrants and from humble backgrounds, who had a dream and saw it through to it’s highest completion.
It’s ultimately a look at a friendship between two lads - Andrew Ridgeley, who was the initial driving force and instigator of the band, and George, or as Andrew knew him, “Yog”, a guy who had a songwriting talent that was able to project himself onto a world stage in only a few short years, with appearances in Band-Aid and Live Aid, coming only 4 years after sitting in the kitchen kicking ideas around after school.
The story is told in the bands’ own voices and there is so much footage. It is a feel good story with no bitterness, and it places Ridgeley in a light that heralds his contributions, shows his acceptance of his friend’s sexuality, and recognition that George needed to go out on his own if he were to reach his full potential. George wrestles with being closeted, his own ego and the frustrations of reaching his potential despite his father’s disapproval.
If you love music, particularly pop music, this is a really great watch and it surprised me because I thought I had no connection to this group at all, but by the end of it, I had all the feels.
One last thing, I didn’t know that Careless Whisper (hearing it’s original home recorded 4 track demo in the show is a treat) was one of the first ever songs they wrote together, and it brings joy to know that the often maligned Andrew Ridgeley is today worth 25 million and still receives thousands each month for co-writing that huge song.
Really enjoyed it too. George’s Live Aid appearance is definitely the moment when everyone realised the man was actually one hell of a singer.
Used to see them running round The Wag (pre fame) with bare feet, like a couple of kids on their holidays, so so different from everyone else in their Demob stuff.
