Succession somehow continues to top itself. Incredible television.
If they stick this landing it will definitely be considered one of the greats.
From Peep Show to Succession: Jesse Armstrong is brilliant. I believe he wrote the most recent episode as well.
I’ve long thought that Succession is very good, but not as good as it thinks it is/gets awarded for. It’s a hard phenomenon to articulate, but it’s how I’ve felt since I started it. That being said, that most recent episode, they completely put in the work and that episode in particular will probably be the one that gets long-standing tv history recognition. Assuming later episodes of this season don’t dwarf it.
Totally agree - my wife and I had a shared joke that if you missed an episode of Succession, it doesn’t matter, as they are all pretty much marching out the same tropes/themes/spiteful barbs. This episode was a masterclass in nuance and raw feeling, with a couple of trademark moments of dark humour thrown in. Shiv (Sarah Snook) reacting to the news and being handed the phone was such powerful acting.
I think this is the reason I’m so happy they’re stopping it. It’s kept me very much engaged but the concept was definitely running the risk of running out of steam.
I just love the combination of high stakes and dark comedy, I could watch it all day. Really hope Jesse Armstrong moves onto a new TV project after this. ![]()
Was such a great episode, Think might binge the whole thing when this season ends, sure we have missed loads of nuance.
Naked, Alone, and Racing to Get Home
It’s awful, but i like it ![]()
Think we’ve all had nights like that…
Watched this over the weekend. Further proof that you can only fool people who want to be fooled.
Just started Colin from Accounts on BBC iPlayer - loving it.
Watched this last night and enjoyed it, good Friday nite fare, Bob Odenkirk , who is always watchable imo, stars as the average suburban dad turned Russian mobster killing bad ass with help from Christopher Lloyd and Rza.
Some great fight scenes and zips along quickly at 90 mins.

Just watched, perfect Saturday night popcorn fun. Look forward to ‘Nobody 2, actually loads of bodies’
25 mins in…….
A sequel would be good, maybe he can move to Albuquerque and sort out the Mexican cartel lol
Finished Beef, loved it every character were so good… Highly recommended.
Weirdly hooked by The Night Agent. It has to be some kind of 24 nostalgia kick, given that the everything about it is a cliche.
I know! It was so $h!t I had to binge watch it in record time.
