What Are You Reading?

Nice one I have had this recommended to me previously and then forgot to order it so have just ordered it.

Fabulous book. I’ve read it twice and feel a third time coming on.

I might buy this too. Also facing a lockdown reading block so maybe this will solve it.

P.S any recommends for a nice uk mail order bookshop that’s not Amazon.

The Nothing That Is: A National History of Zero by Robert Kaplan.

Fascinating stuff about nothing and how it changed everything. The concept of nothingness was contrary to the belief systems of the West. Not so of the East. As a mathematics geek, I love this stuff and Robert Kaplan is a fantastic writer.
I read one of his books a few years back and was so entranced, I went back to school. Currently halfway through a pure maths undergrad.

If you like any sort of book on nature and the natural world, the can I recommend Little Toller Publishing who opened just the best bookshop in our little town just after first lockdown. Their nature classics series really are classics, ranging from the well known to more obscure titles.

Had to read your post twice because my brain was like, “Why is the drummer from Yes writing foodie books?”

I have only just got round to reading the first The Secret DJ. It’s been sat on my shelf for a while. Just never fancied it. Only a third in so far but is well written and entertaining enough. What are the thoughts of those who have read it (or both of them)? Sorry a bit late to the party ha.

I have just finished the KLF book after the recommendations on here. To be honest I found it quite hard work. Left my head spinning a fair bit. Maybe too intelligent for little old me.

Liked 50% of it, the other half is below par, trying to be comedy. The Secret Footballer one, although an airport book, never goes off the rails like that.

Yeah the Tour Manager bit is already doing my head in a little

Which KLF book?

Chaos, magic and the band who burned a million pounds

I can send it on to you if you haven’t read it?

It has descended into complete slapstick nonsense and if he uses the word pilgrim one more time the book is going out the window
