Kevin Saunderson on ‘How to DJ’ talking about ’Good Life’.
“We wanted to make a record that could be played on the radio and in the club”.
I think they definitely did that😉

The absolute best opening - surprised it’s not been sampled (has it?) pure Rasta stream of consciousness and
‘having your meals which is eating your dinner or drinking your tea’
and then the music is flawless. Up there with the Crass Peel session for me for being better than the records.
This just came up on an old mix I was listening to. Well not that old, but old enough that I’d forgotten this tune.
The 40 Thieves remix of Payfones Volt… gets better and better every time I play it. Amazing record.
It has been sampled (and posted on here before). Piers used it on a mix too. Not easy to find, but a real gem
I’ve only just now heard the original source!
Not actually right now, but earlier today in the northern sunshine. The sub woofer was given a workout to the point that my neighbour phoned to ask me to turn it down - he lives about a 5th of a mile from me
Perfect sunshine soundtrack
Michael Caine was a Bent fan & put them on his Desert Island Discs
My mate worked at Our Price on Kings Road early 90s & Caine would often come in, buy loads of new releases & get multiple copies for his different houses
Not a lot of people know that…
He never actually said that, it came from an anecdote / impression Peter Sellers used to do about what a boring bastard he was
Radio 4 doc on I Feel Love
And not a lot of people know that
This, second go now and it gets better every time. My little guy likes it a lot, so might have an 11 year dub head in the house.
I had this mix on repeat last week… So good

Ron Trent live at We Out Here. Smooth as…
When Michael Caine was filming something in Sydney in the 90’s he would regularly frequent my mate’s music store down near Circular Quay and my friend introduced him to Lemon Jelly and other balearic/triphop/chill gear. Caine later put out a comp called “Cained” - you can read about it here:
Tracklisting is pretty decent:
