Welcome, start budgeting now as youāll find yourself wanting a lot of music suggested on here.
Big howdy from the PNW (a little town on the olympic peninsula, WA state)
Iām Pete. Found the TP show a bit before the covid era, and it was a amazing for me. Still is. Started going deep into krautrock, prog, ambient house etc in my early 20s. Cant stop exploring. Been collecting records for about that long. Growing a community around the balearic side of music, which is a bit foreign in these parts (rural place out in the country). Lots of small parties and listening events. Currently with plans to build a JMOD, SKHORN system at a friends shop.
I run a acupuncture clinic on a small island in the Salish sea. Headed to Italy this summer to study herbs with a mentor. Decided to weave in a trip to Love International. Would love to connect with the TP community. Let me know if the TP sunrise sessions needs a little acupuncture & bodywork ; )
Easy Pete! Welcome. See you in the sunshine : )
Welcome to the forum Pete ![]()
Thanks! Lovely placeā¦
We need to organise the meet up properly for this summer
Definitely
I tried to do something a while back for Leeds but I think most people here are South based so it didnt really work
It crossed my mind to ask Loosefm if we could maybe do some sort of TP forum meet up day at the studio in the summer. Have everyone drop in and do a set. @ufstylus ?
hiya pete!
iām cameron, and over there is @dreambeam (andrew) and weāre both in seattle. PNW folks represent!
thereās a few others - @brad is all things portland and beyond, and @JackdawVersion (jonathan) also comes to mind, i think heās in oregon now - that also carry the damp and mossy torch.
Hey,
Thanks for chiming in! Very nice to know thereās close neighbors here. Would love to connect. A few friends and I are heading over for the purelink show next Tuesday.
Iām sort of still here when email reminds me. My Eugene, OR adventure has been a complete and utter bust for more reasons than I care to enumerate, although there were some adventures musical and otherwise. The upshot is that I return to the Salish Sea in early April - Whidbey Island, which is not a small island as Iām sure @ocean_spray knows, but weāll be more or less neighbours in the great real world. My immediate task is to pack my collection and studio once again. It did not even get fully unpacked and set up after the move down. And then start a cultural center for my peculiar musical vision? Well, who knows? But I am in loose discussion about getting a cannabis consumption lounge/kissa listening bar going once the law on public consumption changes. And, Iām told, it will. Meanwhile, it looks like everything goes into a 13x21 foot storage container in the woods. The question is whether it is possible to set that up as even a rudimentary studio. I canāt decide whether Iām too old for all this or whether itās a good challenge that will keep me youthful.
