We Out Here 26 - recommendations please

There’s a lot less I recognise on this year’s bill so any suggestions would be great, particularly the live bands.

And I guess we’d better have a roll call too…

Aussie jazz band Manfredo Lament were on Macca’s show this morning on NTS, live session starting around the 30min mark, all improvisation, it was truly beautiful. if i’d go to WOH i will definitely catch them. having a quick look at them program, Peven Everett should be nice and would certainly not miss James K either. enjoy !

Thanks, they sound great. A push catch them on afternoon of the 1st day, but going to try.
I saw Peven do a PA (at one of @AndyM 's parties) BITD and was blown away so keen to see him doing a proper headline live set.
Cheers

I was in NTS the other day and they’d just finished their session and they all said it had been great.

I’m there Tim. Nowhere near the depth of knowledge as others on the forum but Jazzanova and Stereolab on my list. Would be lovely to say hello.

Unless things have changed, comms there are impossible, you’ll be lucky to get 1 sms thru all weekend. Every year I fail to hook up with dozens of mates, which is incredibly annoying as its the only place we’re all at all year.

However, we now use the little strip of stalls on the R just outside Rhythm Corner as a hangout/meet spot coz thats where the cider is (plus some great food) and lots of pub garden tables.
(I’ll DM you)

Listened to that this morning, they were brilliant! Would love to be in that tent at woh .

I’ll be there. I’m travelling with my wife and her newly broken knee and two small children. I expect I’ll spend most of the time looking longingly at the rhythm corner stage from the ‘family fun’ area with tears in my eyes and holding an abandoned, half chewed lolly pop. I am hoping to catch Audrey Powne, Speakers Corner (I’m an Arthur Russell tragic), and make some midnight manoeuvres for Ge-Ology, Sadar, Luke Una and Mr Disco Kid. Interested in others recommendations here as well!

I caught a bit of this too, sounded great. I’m going to WOH but not until Friday so will miss it.

We got cheap walkie talkies last year for finding each other. Worked a treat.

A few tips for live stuff: Arthur Verocai, Stereolab, Roge, Musclecars, Peven Everett, Speakers Corner, Herbert and Momoko Gill, Gary Bartz, Jazzanova, Gena (might have cancelled, can’t see them in the app now).

The new Beat Hotel stage looks great on paper, loads of good DJs.

My mate that’s involved confirmed Gena are still playing at Lush Life on the Saturday, just missing from the app at the moment. Should be good

I’m on holiday so missing out this year. Bad timing! Have a good one all and look forward to the reports

Make A Dance and Alex Kassian are playing today and tomorrow respectively at We Out Here for Beat Hotel…

I’d be happy spending a lot of time there if I was going!

Barney and Heather along with Audio Gold are to do a talk for those interested in sonic quality. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with the small pink system used for WOH radio , it sounds very nice. Personally can’t afford the weekend, lots of friends go every year.

I thought he was flat as a pancake and completely shown up by Make A Dance in the same slot the next night.
(as was Prosumer by Bill & Frank)

Make-A-Dance do exactly what they say on thet in. Any young producers/DJs/promoters out there wanting to build their own scene/crew, this is the blueprint. Good on 'em.
