I agree private debt is too high, but theres another big big irony for me here.
I’ve always found it amazing how balancing the govt budget is always compared to balancing a household budget, usually by people defending their cuts & austerity.
Its so ridiculous because they ignore the fact that most households wouldn’t even be there without a mortgage. Factor that back in and the ‘household budget’ is actually the perfect proof of why its good to borrow to invest.

I always select following for Insta/Facebook so don’t see the nonsense. Sometimes i don’t filter FB just to see what the first few things the algorithm throws up first - always local news stories about flags/immigration with 3-4k comments. How can anyone believe that this level of engagement with a local news story is genuine? It’s so obviously all bots etc , i don’t get how people are buying it?
A mate of mine joined a range of local Facebook groups for work/networking purposes, and has just quit them all because of the sheer amount of bigotry and bullshit. No-one needs that in their life (except some people clearly… do!)
After the tragic events in Manchester today, I suspect that X and Facebook will be awash with speculation and conspiracy theories.
…Which will lead to more tragic events. The cycle continues
I’ve had no phone or internet since Sunday as I left it in a mates house and it was beginning. to feel great, I haven’t been to the pub since then and got some other stuff done that was on the back burner… glad to be back though…
I watched Network (70s film that weirdly tells this dystopian future we are living in which I imagine a lot of people have watched) and I realised I was watching it on an iPad with my phone sat next to me. I had to pause the film and do that thing where you give yourself 30 mins screen time a day on Instagram as it just felt so daft living life through this small screen. It was a real awakening. Day one (as they say). Well two actually…
