Went to the Depeche Mode - M concert film last night, shot over 3 days in Mexico. Lovely stuff, lots of not so big songs played.

Finally got around to seeing this last night. A really well-made and well-acted horror. I would have liked them to explore how Sally Hawkins character first dicovered the ritual, but that aside, I really enjoyed it.

What a fabulous little movie. Heartwarming and inspirational, but i think its greatest achievment will be making the world understand this condition with far more empathy.

Saw this last week and couldn’t recommend it enough. Its an essential watch imo. A hard and heartbreaking insight into the asylum process

Caught Islands on the BFI Player over the weekend. Nothing amazing but it ratchets the tension up really nicely in a sub-Hitchcock way. Leaves you guessing till the end and even then it’s never entirely straightforward whats happened - in a good way
Just seen this is showing at Leeds Film Festival this month.
Looks like its on at the BFI Southbank tomorrow, then Sheffield and a few other places.

An old friend of mine has directed his first feature film, it’s called DJ Ahmet and it is about a shepherd boy, from a poor Turkish village in Macedonia, who dreams of becoming a DJ.
The movie has been a tremendous success, getting to the heart of many people and also winning many awards. I think they have a distribution for Great Britain.

Saw The Long Walk. Nothing to write home about. Hugely underwhelming and a pretty flat ending is being kind

I feel you. Everything is so hyped up. I’m left in a conundrum of ‘is that it?’ a lot. Recently One Battle after Another. Meh, yeah it’s OK but it’s like the best of a really low bar…
I want to see Bugonia but I feel like I already know what it’s like…

I really enjoyed I Swear when I got out to the picture house recently. Think Howler is a fan too. Properly emotional, but in a profound way, very funny and sensitive at the same time.
