Same directors!

Booked to see it next week, looking forward to it

Saint Maud is my favourite by far in the last few years

Didn’t rate Talk to Me personally and Bring her Back looks more of the same judging by the trailer it’s shock, gratuitous violence and rips off dozens of better films :grimacing:

I think The Witch is probably the last horror film that properly creeped me out.

We watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil last night, about as ‘Horror’ as I can handle. More of a slasher/schlock horror really, pretty fun for a Saturday Popcorn kinda thing, one for wimps like me.
7/10 buckets of blood

2000 Meters to Andriivka is released tomorrow 1st Aug in some Curzon and Picture House cinemas. A brutal documentary on the Ukraine war.

Might not be for everyone but I’m keen to see it. Looks like incredible film making.

Nah, it’s more pyschological than horror. Although the last scene (a couple of seconds lasted with me fir a while).

Same, that scene left its mark on me for a good while. I thought it was excellently done on the whole

Bring Her Back.

So, I went. It’s really good. Great performances all round and actually a very harrowing if unhinged study on grief. This was a little derailed for me by a couple of bits I found genuinely hard to watch. But yeah, super impressive stuff.

Four dry heaves out of five.

The Alexander McQueen documentary last night was a brilliant watch. Exhilarating and exhausting. The show he did and dedicated to Isabella Blow after she passed had me in tears. Definitely didn’t see that coming. 5/5.

yeah a lot of horror films lately have done so well focussing on grief and familial trauma (bring her back, hereditary, talk to me, his house, etc) and they sure do hit differently.

Just out. Yeah I really liked that, some scenes were a tough watch for me but I thought it was done really well. These guys are leading the way in doing the genre so well.

Liked the look of Weapons at the trailers!

Agree with all this, it stays with you a couple of days which is always a good sign

Went to see a movie with Pedro Pascal in it last night.
Pedro Pascal was also in every single one of the trailers.

Watched Challengers last night which I’d wrongly dismissed on its release as a knockabout tennis romcom

Its actually very decent, and more of a psychological drama about obsession, passion and control. Also Zendaya is never less than lovely to look at.

Strangest film of the year goes to:

(I enjoyed it, but fair warning: it takes absurdism way past most peoples’ limits)
