Yes was pretty grim, don’t want to go through it again for sure. Absolutely choc full of tourists down here, no idea what’s going to happen, hardly a mask to be seen.

Got a positive COVID result last night after 3 days of feeling a bit average. So far it’s been bearable.

Lucky to have a good size garden, this is my partners smoking area and favourite place in the garden, she was proud of the little table she made today and stuff already growing in the back ground…

I’m very much into my health, physically and as mentally as I can be considering I am pretty nuts ha. I go to the gym for at least 15 to 20 hours a week and I’m heavily into meditation and just this year yoga which goes hand in hand with my meditation practice. I do it daily to kick start my day and even a small session last thing before bed. To be honest I am not quite sure how I lived without yoga. It’s been amazing for me.

I eat well, two meals a day and try not to eat too late, I try for no later than 5pm if possible but have to be flexible of course depending on circumstances. Lots of eggs, spinach, chicken, turkey, olives, salmon, 80% dark choc in main and drink a couple of cups of chamomile tea and as close to the 2 required litres of water each day but I add lemon, lime, ginger and cucumber (I keep meaning to add turmeric so this thread reminded me thank you). Only going off track when my eldest daughter is here as she loves chocolate (as do I) so I nab a bit and I allow myself one iced latte a day pre gym. I don’t take a load of supplements but have tried many over the years, just sticking to cod liver oil, blueberry extract, multivitamins and some extra vitamin D nowadays…oh and those little pro biotic drinks I forget the name of, the little pink ones that taste much better than actimel. I have just in the last week started on CBD. I have bought some gummies after some extensive research which I have in the morning with the rest of my supplements and some oil to take at night. The purpose is to see if it helps with severe anxiety and now sleep issues which struggling with sleep is a fairly new thing to me but not exactly surprising given the shite year I have had. I have always been able to sleep well so it’s taking some getting used to! I will report back on the CBD but it’s promising so far. I am more relaxed and did sleep well the night before last.

I have had a strange relationship with my health… food and exercise throughout my life, binging both and then not bothering for periods so this stability is a new thing and hopefully improving me slowly but surely. My fitness levels are insane for a fella of my age right now but it’s all good and well being physically fit when mentally it’s not such a easy ride. Anyhow onwards and upwards.

Anyone thinking of starting yoga or meditation and need any tips give me a shout. I don’t do classes for yoga, all done at home. I may try a class one day but right now it feels right doing it alone and tweaking the bits that work for me etc.

I did yoga for a few years before COVID, had a lovely teacher & a group of just middle-aged guys. I loved it, it saved me when I was really unhealthy (commuting).

Do you not do it anymore?

Fair play mate. The connection between mind and body is only recently becoming more mainstream within the medical system, which is pretty crazy, for me anyway.

I do a pretty basic yoga for 20 minutes each morning and don’t feel right if I don’t now. Not a gym person at all and have to build my exercise into my day. I have skateboarders knees, so walking is my thing, which I love. And swimming.

I was never a gym person. A gym mocker more like but I stopped playing football five years ago after nearly 40 years of playing off and on, more on than off which was extremely tough as lost the social side of it as well (I ran my old work team and arranged charity tournaments as well) and after taking up tennis but not finding it quite as enjoyable I decided to give the gym a fair crack. I spend probably 70% of my time doing cardio and the rest weights. Weights can become very boring very quickly. I find myself able to cope with cardio by using the skills I have picked up in meditation…and lots of house and techno.

Yes 100% with you about not feeling right without it. I didn’t get the chance this morning as my eldest girl is here so had to take her to school. Definitely felt off.

Great Post, my Mrs has been doing this for years now, yoga, diet etc. She was a vegetarian since a teenager after a bad experience with a goat in Spain as a exchange student, now just eats for her gut as she puts it. She was a hard drug user for years Coke and heroin and just stopped without any help. She was away at a sweat lodge up in the mountains few weeks ago getting cleansed and is on this oral spray the last few weeks that is doing wonders for her… :green_heart: It’s all hippy nonsense to me, works for her so we are all happy
