My gym has a machine that you hold sensors & it weighs you & you put your height in
Gives you loads of measurements ( muscle mass etc) from sensors
My metabolic age was 34 when I was 51
They got a new one & it went up to 50 !

Ouch!
I’ve also started using the Yuka app, which scans a product’s barcode and tells you just how good or bad it is (and it’s a real eye opener).
Nak’d Blueberry Muffin Fruit & Nut Bars are now my go to for a sweet snack.
I now weigh the lightest I have been in years (84.5kg - down from 92kg in January). A combination of healthy eating, and regular cadio and weight sessions at the gym. It helps that we have a free one at work, so I use that for weight and callisthenics most days, then get hot and sweaty on the bike at the gym near home 2 or three times a week).
Got back on Noom as my weight had crept up a bit. Started on 81Kg and trying to get down to 70. Currently on 78 after 3 weeks. I find it a little preachy but it definitely helps you to be mindful about what you’re eating. I have a pretty good diet already, my weakness is snacking which is difficult due to a cupboard full of snacks for my kids.
Have downloaded and will give this a go
Oof too true. Reckon I will lose a stone as soon as my youngest leaves home.
Yes. I’ve used a few of these over the years. Like with sports watches/trackers they are good for monitoring trends over time - muscle mass, for example - but there’s little consistency between different machines and metrics like ‘metabolic age’ vary wildly.
Came to say the same. I regularly use the one in my gym and the results are perplexing to say the least. My BMI is down but varies by the day.
The only real way to measure all your internal metrics is to have a full body DEXA scan, which aint cheap!
Such a great app!
Is anyone using any sort of healthy tracking app? I’ve been using welltory which I kind of like but sort of feel like I should bin as I just don’t get how the results can change so much over a short period of time without me really doing much - in the space of thee hours my stress levels have gone through the roof and my health score has improved massively
I ain’t using no App called ‘WellTory’ bro… ![]()
I used Welltory for a while earlier this year and found it to be weirdly inaccurate in comparison to how I was actually feeling. 100% health even when I felt rubbish and highly stressed when I felt fine.
This looks interesting, which package do you have and do you genuinely feel like you can make adjuy that benefit you? Welltory is always telling me I have lots energy but don’t really know what to do about it!
Also important question - does this mean you weqr a watch on one wrist and this on the other?
It’s been brilliant for me. I find it really accurate and it can even detect what activity I’m doing. It had made me realise how important sleep is in my life!
I’m currently rocking the 4.0 Whoop Peak and paid £229 for the year.
Yes, watch (analogue) on the left wrist and this in the right.
I’m about to upgrade to the 5.0 after almost 12 months as it only needs charging once per fortnight (compared to every 5 days on the 4.0).
I use a garmin venu sq2 and garmin connect along with lose it app. I need to get properly back at the running and logging my meals as the difference is huge mentally when you start focusing on trying to stay healthier.
Just starting my build up to May’s Hackney Half Marathon. Twice weekly 5k runner, and do the occasional 10k, but the jump to 13 miles feels pretty daunting to say the least (already having a few “what the hell am I thinking?” moments).
It is, but just do it run by run and you’ll be fine. I do a half (marathon) every year and it always feels daunting until it’s not. Albeit there will be the occasional pain/boredom threshold to pass.
I find with lose it, if you are eating something you don’t eat regularly, try putting it in before and you often think it’s not worth the calories ![]()
