I’m starting the Mounjaro thing on Monday. Any tips to avoid feeling sick and/or chronically bunged up?

Honestly constipation has been a real thing for me. Second and third week were biblical and not in a good way, I think one night I sat on the throne for a full two hours and gave up :face_holding_back_tears::joy:. A ‘poo stool’ (anything that raises your feet up) really helps. Plenty of water, fibre gummies, magnesium citrate, Senokot tablets… all your friends. Fibre Fibre Fibre Water Water Water!

Having said that it’s not been an issue for Mrs J_C at all…

In terms of nausea personally speaking if I even think of fried food I feel sick. I’ve fancied things, bought the ingredients, made it, taken one bite and thought nah… so be prepared!

Did you seen the news? Trump fucks absolutely everything he touches :skull:

It’s different for everyone. I’ve barely noticed it but then realise I’m just not eating as much. It seems very subtle. I know others have had a more extreme reaction. Just gone from 2.5 to 5 this week so let’s see what that does. Weight loss has been slower than others but am down 4kg in a month and it feels sustainable. I mean if I lost 20kg or so over 6 months I’d be very happy.

You’ve got to keep drinking loads of water to mitigate the constipation. Smoothies/green juice also good.

Hope it goes well for you.

As I just said to Piers sugar free gummie bears have quite the effect. I learnt this the other day by accident. Go easy…

[Update there’s a herbal tea called Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals that well trust me it works…]

Day 8 of a ten day no sugar / caffeine / alcohol (that bit i’ve got down) detox which we’ve done before… Last two days were a bit of a struggle but I’ve lost ten pounds in seven days and feeling pretty good. Might try and keep the refined sugar and carbs out full time…

Have you changed anything else? Upped your exercise or anything like that? Pretty impressive results :+1:

No. Nothing. You feel a bit tired some days but at this point towards the end it really starts to feel good… You have a whole diet that you follow and then off you go. It really does feel like you are cleansing your system (based on what comes out that is definitely true - you s*it like a king). Can’t recommend it enough. It’s a book by this guy called Mark Hyman. You are meant to journal and that but we didn’t bother with that this time… We sort of make sure we don’t cheat on the foods and then just have a bit more if we’re hungry… Just off to get more cashews for a snack : )

Are the meal plans in here fine if you don’t eat meat?

Yeah I don’t have meat and it’s totally fine. You have to take supplements and fibre before each meal. I might keep up the fibre part as it’s really good for the gut. Now 10 lbs down in 8 days. Apparently that’s ten pairs of men’s leather shoes in weight (thanks internet).

Nice one!

Was at a healthcare conference last Thursday and they had a machine that measures your movement and balance, etc. As someone who will be 53 next month, I’ll take that all day long…
