Grandmaster Flash once refused to share a taxi with me from the airport to a festival. I don’t think it was me per se. More just the idea of sharing with anyone.

Went on an Outback tour around Alice Springs way, 04 I think; led by none other than Dan Falzon aka Rick Alessi from the once defunct Neighbours. Think his Dad did it too, very knowledgeable about Aboriginal culture, way of life and nature etc I learnt lots.

Appreciate this on the smaller side of a small claim given he’s probably guided hundreds of people. :grinning:

When I was in high school, our string quartet played a benefit at a posh hotel. We were accosted by a very, very drunk Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway in Star Trek) “You guuuyyyss are grrrrreat” and had to be removed back to her table.

This reminds me I was getting a taxi from a hotel / wedding venue in East Grinstead to a B&B and we shared a taxi with Doug E Fresh. Isaac Hayes was in the taxi behind. They were getting a taxi to a Scientology convention :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

A couple spring to mind:

Finding myself coming around from a disco nap in the cubby hole at 54 (the old rave den beneath the Indian restaurant on Commercial Steet) to unexpectedly find Constantine from Galliano sat next to me!

Another strange one came during this terrible stag weekend in Puerto Banus also around 2005/06 and sharing an illegal cab back from this opulent club with Luther Blissett and Oliver Skeete the showjumper on either side, getting agitated with the Moroccan driver.

I posted this in another thread, but it kind of belongs here as well:

I have a signed copy of Fox Base Alpha by St Etienne.

Not signed by them though. They were doing an instore promotion at HMV Liverpool in the early 90’s, I took my copy of the album down to get signed.

However, I got my days mixed up and cartoon pop icon Betty Boo was there instead.

I still got her to sign it anyway, she looked well miffed.

Barnes showed his moves in that football video years ago…

It was a very sexy disco. The music wasnt really the point. It was the people- all about the people. Start there then do the ministry for the music just as there was the swap over at 5 am from the earlier crowd to the rotters.
