I hold him, Mrs McLusky, and all the rest of them partly responsible for the war on drugs

I was thinking today about the time we hung out with Benny (RIP) in the Cross (I think it was)

Johnny Briggs was a regular at the West Indian centre in Leeds.

He was at a student party I was at after a gig by NJoi at Manchester Academy around 1992. He was absolutely mashed and everyone kept calling in Gruey, which must have been really annoying.

Zammo chased the dragon and got a smack on the nose.

Enough to put anyone off.

Often saw members of Grange Hill around the warehouses in 88/89. Definetly regulars at the Dungeons. Chatted and caught the bus up to the tube station with them a few times.

Sat next to Lee Renaldo (Sonic Youth) in economy on a flight to Spain. Lovely guy, I was able to contain my inner fanboy. He had a wine and fell asleep to Casablanca. Wanted to ask about the SY days but this was just a year or so after the band broke up and thought better of it. Oh well…

I’m pretty sure that I read Farley saying that Jackie Wright was a regular at Boys Own doo’s back in the day.

The girl who played her younger sister could regularly be seen off her face a fair bit in various Northern clubs the early 90s.

Didn’t Roland from Grange Hill take up DJing? Sure he did

Saw him in The Gardening Club a few times. (not DJing)

Whilst we’re doing what ever happened to Grange Hill, Stewpot used to run a second hand shop just down the road from us on Stoke Newington Church street.

Pogo Patterson was the landlord of our local pub for a few years!

Ricky Simmonds (Ant Jones in Grange Hill) did quite well for himself as a Trance/Prog producer in the 90s/00s

He did. Pretty sure he owned or run a record shop too.

Tucker Jenkins once joined in a kick about we were having in West Harrow park, he was a massive ball hogger.

He used to go to Legends in Warrington in the years before Cream started. Think his name was Kieron. Bouncers used to pisstake him in queue before entry.
